Like another famous athlete, British tennis star Andy Murray has been having relationship problems of late. Unlike Tiger Woods, Murray hasn't been spending too much time with other women, however. He's been spending too much time on his Playstation.

He'd rather push the buttons on a Playstation than push her buttons? The boy is an idiot.

What's more responsible? Buying a $60 video game or turning over half of your worldly assets in the hope you might obtain partial visitation rights to see your children on pre-selected holiday?

Andy Murray should be a role model for all men.

She’s gorgeous, but it all depends on what he has waiiting in the stable. Secondly, hobbies, even video games, are an important part of life. If she is so controlling, then forget her.

I’ll take a woman over a video game any day.

I’m glad I don’t play video games. But even at 39, I have friends the same age and older that spend countless hours on video games. I just don’t get how some of them have fuctional marriages.

This chick probably had a point. Some dudes practically live second lives playing these games. I see it as my biggest challenge as a father. My sons (5 and 3) are still too young to get sucked into this trend, but I’ll be damned if I let them spend hours a day playing video games.

I don’t get it and I guess I’m glad I don’t get it. My wife and I enjoy playing “real” games together - Cribbage, Scrabble, Upwards, Settlers of Cataan - even Mad Libs! Guess we’re dorks. We have already have a family “game night” each week. With my sons being so young the games pretty much consist of Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Don’t Break the Ice etc...But one thing I know - we will never include video games.

No idiot. My take is there are probably several very good reasons a person would prefer video games to spending time with her. Some characteristics cannot be compensated for by looks. It’s just sad that he didn’t have the guts to give her the heave-ho rather than waiting for her to figure it out....

I got to play Settlers of Cataan several months ago when a friend brought it over. It was great fun!

My wife and I like to play Phase 10, Uno or Backgammon. When my parents come over we play Hand & Foot (variation of canasta).

Family game night is a great idea and one we will most certainly be implementing when we have our family.

Some people don't seem to realize that:

a) even if you wanted to have constant sex with your "hot" wife/girlfriend/etc., she's going to limit that to what her desires are. Meaning, after she feels established, she no longer has to use sex to "keep" her man and safe-guard her catch. This is the basis of the old joke that wedding cake is the ultimate form of birth control. And the other 23 hours of the day with her might make the hour of physical enjoyment irrelevant, anyway.

b) attractive women almost always know that they are pretty (if you ever find one that doesn't, propose immediately!). Despite all of the mental body issues that most women have, attractive women usually define themselves by their attractiveness (at least in part). They know they are hot, and expect to be treated like it. This form of arrogance might be fine (or even alluring) on a limited basis... but relationships with self-centered people aren't particularly enjoyable, no matter how "hot" they are.

c) pretty people tend to be more demanding (especially of others). If they define themselves by their image, they are going to be very concerned about your effect on it. Meaning that they are going to want you to behave/act/look in ways that makes them look good (according to their definition)...

I once dated a TV reporterette. She was hot! She also wouldn't let me touch or kiss her while we were out (I might mess up her clothes or make-up!). She wanted to remake me to fit her image ("You can't go to the store dressed like that! Someone we know might see you! Quick, shave, shower, put on something that looks good... I know it's just Lowes, but you never know...") and I always felt an undercurrent of "I'm to good for him" in our relationship.

Needless to say, I dumped her very quickly. Her physical charms were so overwhelmed by her negatives, that I didn't even regret it for a minute. I guarrantee you that the girl in the article (and Tiger's wife) are no different. I'm not defending infidelity or ignoring your girlfriend... but it takes two to tango.

BTW, my wife might not be a swimsuit model, but she's a beautiful woman who is the best (and nicest) person I have ever known. I wouldn't so much as glance at the reporterette again, no matter how well she might have aged. Some things are way more important than physical appearance. As I have been known to tell my students who are a bit too fashion-conscious (or even the occasional girl in college who wouldn't date me), "Twenty years from now we'll all be old and ugly... I'll still be smart..."

Second that. But there are some pretty gals who are really sweet. Those are the best ones.

“relationships with self-centered people aren’t particularly enjoyable”

Then Elin must have been really miserable, even before Tiger’s dalliances were exposed.

And these kind of women are always the ones wondering why they can't keep a man, no wonder how hot they may be.

Yup. And I think that's why Tiger is going to come out okay in the long run.

His behavior surely isn't going to be popular around here, but he definitely delayed the aging golfer family man image for quite awhile. His sponsers know that youth and sex sells stuff.
