Uncle Joe” New National Hero

Modern Russia Displays Red Roots

thelastcrusade.org

Joseph Stalin sent over 30 million Russians to their deaths during his reign of terror.

His body was removed from the Kremlin.

His name was taboo for decades.

But the ruthless Soviet dictator is the new hero of modern Russia, and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin now openly praises “Uncle Joe’s” achievements.

In a recent appearance on national television, Mr. Putin gave credit to Stalin for making the Soviet Union an industrial superpower and for defeating Hitler in the Second World War.

It’s obvious that, from 1924 to 1953, the country that Stalin ruled changed from an agrarian to an industrial society.,” Mr. Putrin said. “We remember perfectly well the problems, particularly at the end, with agriculture, the queues for food and such like ... but industrialisation certainly did take place.”

The Prime Minister went on to say: “We won the Great Patriotic War [the Russian name for the Second World War]. Whatever anyone may say, victory was achieved. Even when we consider the losses, nobody can now throw stones at those who planned and led this victory, because if we’d lost the war, the consequences for our country would have been much more catastrophic.”

"Great Patriotic War"

Fine name for a conflict in which the USSR began as an ally of Nazi Germany.

And praise him he should.

Stalin played the sickly socialist Roosevelt like a harp.

Thanks to his sly tactics Stalin was able to suck up all the free war material necessary to supply his counteroffensive against Germany.

More goodies came his way at the end of World War II. Instead of facing superior American troops in the battlefield he won WWII and Eastern Europe as well as all the machinery necessary to produce manufactured goods and he kidnapped all the scientists and engineers to help guide an industrialized USSR.

He also made off with over 3,000 Americans who were treated as dogs in his slave gulags with no intervention on America's part.

He was our enemy and so is Putin and so is the present occupant of the White House, his entire staff, most bureaucrats and all Democrats and even some Republicans.

Isn't about time we step up and tell them all that we're tired of being shat upon?

What ever happened to the Russian crime syndicate that seemed to fill the power vacuum in the first post-Soviet years? It allied with ex-KGB official Putin and formed a government. Any relations with Russia have to be conducted in this context.

One of Stalin's chores during the revolution was to rob Czarist banks. Though communist societies may be founded by idealists they end up being managed by sociopaths.

Yes and I believe the Left in this country was all for Hitler while he was an ally of "Uncle Joe". Fascist didn't become a dirty word until Germany went to war with Russia.

I'm sure Putin's fond of the Great Terror (see Robert Conquest's books THE GREAT TERROR and HARVEST OF SORROW), the Gulag (see Solzhenitsyn's and Anne Applebaum's books on that subject), and how he was in power (see Robert Tucker's STALIN IN POWER).

Is there any reason to wonder why anymore why this amoral cretin aiding and abetting Iran's mad mullahs?

Also, The Court Of The Red Czar is very good indeed.

Reveal’s Putin’s grandfather -— or great-grandfather -— was a chef first for the Tsar and then, I think, for the KGB bigwigs.

Putin grew up in an atmosphere of privelidge in the USSR
