Arlington mayor fires at Obama online (My new hero!)
The Commercial Appeal ^ | December 4, 2009

In the opinion of Arlington Mayor Russell Wiseman, President Barack Obama's speech on Tuesday night on the war in Afghanistan was deliberately timed to block the Christian message of the "Peanuts" television Christmas special.

Wiseman made the statements on his Facebook page, where he declared Obama to be a Muslim. Only people on Wiseman's "friend's list" had access to the post. He has more than 1,600 friends on Facebook.

--snip --

At another point he said, "you know, our forefathers had it written in the original Constitution that ONLY property owners could vote, if that has stayed in there, things would be different........"

Yeah...I'm an honorably discharged, tax paying combat vet that rents. Thanks for disenfranchising me.

Frankly, I think only active duty service and honorably discharged vets should be allowed to vote. No vote unless you’ve served at the tip of the spear and risked all for God and country.

ok and i second that, and i am not active duty or honorably discharged veteran

in fact never served

but i would trust those who do and those who did to run this country

and i could sleep well at night

and not have to worry about politics

take it away.

Well, we can make exceptions for currently serving and for vets. 2 votes for active service and 1.5 votes for vets regardless of land ownership! :-)

How about “No Pay, No Say”. If you have not paid income taxes since the last elections held - RETIREES and any military vets excepted - you have no vote in the election. They work for the taxpayers, or at least they should. Otherwise, the non-payers, whom are becoming the majority soon, will continue to demand the payers keep paying more.

I think net taxpayers should get a vote...and I would disqualify dishonorably discharged veterans.

But I agree. Those who don't pay into the federal government should not have a say in how it spends other people's money.

Imagine the DIFFERENCE it would make if zero-liability voters were no longer voters.

I respectfully disagree. I served and was honorably discharged.

I never bought the “chicken hawk” argument, and I could never support this view.

I know many people who did not serve that are true patriots to the core, I know veterans that are silly liberals.

There are people out there who cannot, for a variety of reasons serve, yet they are the strongest supporters of active duty military and veterans.

I would rather have those patriots that did not serve in my fighting position than some dumba$$ lefty that did serve.
