Republican Elliot Polach is disenchanted with his party's leaders in
Washington, many of whom voted for a bank bailout and other big-ticket
spending bills in the past year. These days, he'd rather be called a conservative than a Republican.
Polach, the 18-year-old founder of the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party in
Paducah, is emblematic of deep and widespread frustration that has surfaced
in Republican primaries nationwide.

I don’t think the Republican Party is in that bad of shape in KY, except in my district. Rand Paul’s mounting a strong challenge to the party status quo in KY is healthy. Fights and arguments are where ideas are expressed and policy formulated. If a few RINOS vote ‘Rat then the re-energized conservatives will get votes from independents (this is happening right now in a virtual land-shift) and conservative Democrats.
That’s exactly how Pres. Reagan (God Rest His Soul) was elected; and given analysis of recent polling data, nothing major has changed since then.
