There's been a SWAT raid in Toronto over a gun scare, and designer Jeremy Bell was temporarily held at gunpoint. Per the Toronto Sun:

The partner at digital marketing company Teehan+Lax was surrounded by heavily armed tactical officers, cuffed and held against the wall of his Richmond St. W. office -- until, that is, the cops found the gun he had been holding in front of the window about 90 minutes earlier was a pile of blocks.

The BrickGun Semi-Automatic gun (purchased online from BrickGun, "designers and builders of the world's most realistic custom Lego weapon models") arrived at Bell's office Wednesday.

Here is Bell's account of what happened. You get some idea of the level of response the report of a man with a gun prompted, complete with air support:

>I’m guessing you mean negligent discharge. I agree with you. There is no such thing as an accidental discharge. All of them can be chalked up to negligence at some point.

I disagree, a weapons malfunction can cause an accidental discharge that is not negligent. Such malfunctions are rare, but should be recognized as existing.

And the malfunction is due to?

At some point, someone didn't do what he or she was supposed to do, either with maintenance or quality control.

It may not be the firearm owner's fault, but it could be chalked up to negligence up the line.

Think SKS and slam-fire. Piss-poor negligent design leads to unwanted effect.

>At some point, someone didn’t do what he or she was supposed to do, either with maintenance or quality control.

But that is NOT negligence on part of the [weapon’s] operator, which is integral to the definition of “negligent discharge.”

Furthermore, even with quality-control it is possible to have a single defective item slip past.

I see your point. In my original post, I had it in mind that ND was specific to the operator, but I wasn't explicit.

Yes...it is Marktwain

But nobody physically opposes it...that’s such a shame nobody gets their feathers ruffled anymore.

These LE’s are just following orders ...programed to get a paycheck and they will kill you if you disobey and their office will high-five ‘em and....well they are just so f**king dumb.Because they have a family too..but live for the moment.

OTH..citizens are the dumbest (you and I)because we don’t sacrifice our lives for integrity(for the truth)...we are afraid. The Word of GOD says,”I’ve not been born again,of a spirit of FEAR...but of LOVE,POWER,and a Sound mind....in God..there is no fear.

I see people on here talk about fighting for “OUR RIGHTS”(and the old fat men would rather go to a tea party)...and their spirit is willing but their flesh is weak

They say.”well, I’ve gotta go to work now on monday...but maybe I can make it on the next go around ya know...I gotta make a living.”

What old lazy men don’t realize is... that old men are the ones that will have to move first...and it won’t be a Tea Party.

A Tea Party nowadays is just a social gathering to listen to politicians that are there to B*LLSH*T you into casting a vote for them....they can not HELP YOU. YOU have to do it YOURSELVES...Will you die in this endevour for freedom against your Federal monster Government that you created.

Probaly! What’s it’s worth to you? Are you that selfish?
Actions speak louder than words.

For gun enthusiasts..that use all those acronyms and gibberish “Weapontry talk” (science sh*t)&(at the Range)To make people think you know your sh*t...You ain’t sh*t..ting
NOBODY!(I take that back...you could be helping someone) forgive me,Maybe a weener.

The mind is greater than a thing. My Dad taught me safety with a gun at(13 yrs old) and no it has not changed!I taught
my son...he taught his sons and daughters and there’s nothing else to teach. now..”Self defense” is in the soul of man.

If you wanta do target practice and (well) get technical stuff...hey? Are you guys selling a service? OOPS! Sorry!

Didn’t mean to get into your “climate change” presentation..and I’m backing off stage... tipping hat to you!

You must be a wantabe COP.Safety w/a gun is simply and not hard.
