IMHO, that describes many establishment GOPer's (Steele, Newt, McCain, Graham, Voinivich, Collins, Snowe, Romney, etc., with even some apologists here) [see Scozzafava-NY 2009], who think they can jettison social conservatives and still win elections.
Naah, they’ve pretty much rejected Conservatism in every form. Slick Willard and the Maine Twins are big time Socialist spendthrifts in addition to their leftist social views.
