So Im still on my multi-year quest to understand the climate data. You never know where this data chase will lead. This time, it has ended me up in Australia.

IPCC plot of Australian temperature record.
An example (black line) of the temperature "adjustment" for a typical Australian station. The blue line is the original measured data. The red line is what the crooks at CRU and NASA actually use. This isn't science. This is politics.
The summary is that from 1941 to present, there were 5 stations around Darwin reporting temperatures. All 5 stations reported almost identical temeratures. Raw data shown in the graph below.
However, even though all five stations were in agreement, the CRU threw out two of the stations, then applied the black "correction" factor to two of the three remaining temperatures, then averaged those three to arrive at the IPCC graph.
From the CRU file “FOI2009\FOIA\documents\osborn-tree6\briffa_sep98_d.pro” we have the “fudge factor”:
;
; Apply a VERY ARTIFICAL correction for decline!!
;
yrloc=[1400,findgen(19)*5.+1904]
valadj=[0.,0.,0.,0.,0.,-0.1,-0.25,-0.3,0.,-0.1,0.3,0.8,1.2,1.7,2.5,2.6,2.6,$
2.6,2.6,2.6]*0.75 ; fudge factor
if n_elements(yrloc) ne n_elements(valadj) then message,’Oooops!’
;
yearlyadj=interpol(valadj,yrloc,timey)
;
This code appears to break the temperature record into 20 5 year “yrloc”s and apply “adjustments” to the data from the 20 member array valadj based using the derived yrloc value as the array index.
A plot of valadj over the 1904-2004 time frame would result in a plot very similar to the Darwin “adjustments”.
Hey, over here. I remembered you were looking for global cooling sutff.
Interesting how the jumps are aligned on decades.
They ran that temperature adjusting array on them. That made adjustments every 5 years !!!

Thanks for posting this.
Talk about Data Rape.
Flatten out the MW period and boost the decline in temps from 1998 on.
COMPLETE FRAUDS.

Excellent article!
Just searched to see if it was posted, you beat me to it!
This alone should be enough to convince “warmists” and to anger those of us who have known better all along.
Blatant data fraud and manipulation.
Thanks for posting!
