CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities have charged a North Carolina woman with selling moonshine out of her day care center.
The Charlotte Observer reports Tuesday that North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement arrested 57-year-old Gwendolyn Brown-Johnson last week at Parkview Community Center in Charlotte.
Agents say children were in the day care center when they sent in an undercover agent to buy two gallons of moonshine.
Brown-Johnson told the paper she was set up by a neighbor. She says she was just holding a package for a man in exchange for $80 and didn't even know what was in it.
Agents also arrested 82-year-old Ervin Preston Finger and charged him with making the moonshine. Authorities seized more than 80 gallons of moonshine from Finger.
Was she driving “the General Lee”?
derned revenooers
Awwww... too bad it wasn’t weed then we could all go through the usual song and dance. ;-)
No wonder the kids in my wife’s class 4-year olds are hyper!
I just knew that woman in the 3-year olds class looked suspicious!
I expect anyone working in a day care center could use a little nip once and a while herself. When I grew up, mothers would rub a little bourbon on a teething kids gums, and I expect take a little sip themslves.
I've never heard of a woman with one of those hyphenated surnames who was anything but bad news.
“Hey, a kid that’s liquored up is a kid that ain’t screamin’ his head off!”
Wasn’t this the theme of a W.C Fields / Baby Leroy movie?
It’s a pre-school for future Nascar drivers.
It's Granny Clampett's medical moonshine.
Pinging the “What I do?” *ping* list...
Actually, she was driving the church van. Here’s more on her and the community center.

Now we know the origin of the “sippy cup”!
Yeah, and with a hyphenated name like Brown-Johnson...
Errm.
Never mind.
I am chuckling
Ah know what yo mean, bro.
