The Obama administration is warning Congress that if it doesn't move to regulate greenhouse gases, the Environmental Protection Agency will take a "command-and-control" role over the process in a way that could hurt business.

That book will soon be forbidden. It’s amazing to read that book,,, and realize how much of the their thinking is precisely shared by Obama and the democrat party of today.

But their big mistake is that we aren’t simple russian peasants of the early 1900s. We are armed to the teeth. And we still somewhat remember the ideas of Washington, Jefferson, Madison, etc.

I fear they will not stop their revolution, because they truly do not understand us. They do not understand what is “too far”.

We have a line,, and they show no signs of stopping. It should sadden anyone with children. And it should fill you with a terrible resolve that WE deal with it when they cross the line, and not leave it to our children.

THERE ARE SOME ON YOUR SIDE:
YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THESE FASCIST WITH FACTS:

As coal, oil, and nat ural gas are used to feed and lift from pov erty
vast numbers of people across the globe, more CO2 will be re leased
into the atmosphere. This will help to maintain and improve the
health, longevity, prosperity, and productivity of all people.
The United States and other coun tries need to produce more en -
ergy, not less. The most practi cal, econom ical, and environmentally
sound methods available are hydrocarbon and nuclear technologies.
Human use of coal, oil, and natural gas has not harmfully warmed
the Earth, and the ex trapolation of cur rent trends shows that it will
not do so in the foreseeable fu ture. The CO2 pro duced does, how -
ever, ac celerate the growth rates of plants and also permits plants to
grow in drier re gions. An imal life, which de pends upon plants, also
flourishes, and the di versity of plant and an imal life is increased.
Human activities are producing part of the rise in CO2 in the at -
mosphere. Mankind is moving the carbon in coal, oil, and nat ural gas
from be low ground to the atmosphere, where it is available for con -
version into living things. We are living in an in creasingly lush en vironment
of plants and animals as a re sult of this CO2 increase. Our
children will therefore en joy an Earth with far more plant and an imal
life than that with which we now are blessed.

And in the future, a new Congress could always defund the EPA or even zero it out completely.

The EPA's power is based on the Clean Air Act (of 1970, most recently amended in 1990). There is a bill before Congress (stalled) that provides for an amendment that would not permit CO2 or other "greenhouse gases" to be classified as pollutants and hence subject to regulation by the EPA. From another thread:

In January of this year Representative Marsha Blackburn sponsored bill H.R. 391 that will "amend the Clean Air Act to provide that greenhouse gases are not subject to the Act, and for other purposes".

Call your congress critters to see what they have done about HR 391.

From what I gather, no amount of facts, evidence, or logic will deter these people, because their stated reasons have nothing to do with their actual goals.

Same goes for their supporters living amongst “we the people”.

As do some FReepers in this thread who have resigned themselves to suffer under an oppressive Government.

I think about your concept everytime people talk about burying their guns,,etc. We arent quite at the point of violent revolt yet, we need to make an all-out honest effort to retake the nation in the next two elections. But if a government ever does become so bad, that it is smartest to bury the guns,, then it’s actually time to use them.

They didnt bury their guns at Lexington and Concord.

"If you don't pass this legislation, then ... the EPA is going to have to regulate in this area," the official said. "And it is not going to be able to regulate on a market-based way, so it's going to have to regulate in a command-and-control way, which will probably generate even more uncertainty."

Amazing, the EPA attempting to dictate to Congress what legislation it "has" to pass. The EPA cannot do this on its own without additional Congressional authorization. The EPA cannot do this by fiat, and still has to jump through the long-established regulatory process hoops in order to try to accomplish this. At some point, it will be stymied. If they try to do it anyway, there will be federal lawsuits out their wazoo and the Congress will simply fail to fund the agency in the wake of public outcry. I have a feeling that someone in the BO administration knows this is an over-reach, and is allowing it on purpose, in order to be able to "negotiate" something else entirely.

Keep thinking that it’s JUST the Democrats you have to worry about, and you’ll be in one of those camps someday.

Everyone should search their souls though. And be prepared. As you look through history,,,there are examples of deep divides leaving no room for compromise. 1770s,,King George or the Founders, where is the middle? 1850s,,,Abolitionist, or advocate of admitting slave states?

2000s,,,Anyone who reads history can see that there is a worldwide socialist internationalist revolution being imposed on America. And they are faced with those who deeply belive in our constitution as implemented, and think its a God given right. One side must prevail. In history, the socialist beast has only been defeated by force,,,

It remains to be seen if they will quietly go away when defeated in the elections,, history says probably not.

I just have one thing to say to the EPA: Bring it on.

Actually two things, you might read the entire Declaration of Independence. Take note the section that deals with the King who does not listen to his subjects and extrapolate from that what could be a concern for those who are SUPPOSED to represent individuals, not rule them.
