Rep. Grayson tells Cheney to 'STFU' By Eric Zimmermann - 12/09/09 06:02 PM ET

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) has done it again.

Appearing on MSNBC's "Hardball" Wednesday night, the Florida Democrats used a colorful acronym to respond to Dick Cheney's criticisms of President Obama.

"You know, on the internet there's an acronym that's used to apply to situations like this. It's called 'STFU.' I don't think I can say that on the air, but I think you know what that means," Grayson said.

That acronym is short for "Shut the f**k up."

Last night, Cheney had lashed out at President Obama's decision to give Khalid Sheikh Mohammed a civilian trial in federal court.

"He'll be as important or more important than Osama bin Laden," Cheney said about the plotter of 9/11. "And we will have made it possible. We will have given him that platform, that opportunity, to come here and there is absolutely no need to do that."

Cheney also accused Obama of giving "aid and comfort to the enemy."

Grayson recalled that it was the Bush administration who was close to the Saudi royal family.

"I remember Bush Junior kissing Prince Abdullah on the cheek, and then holding his hand for an extended period of time," Grayson snapped. "Maybe if he'd let him get to second base, then gasoline would be a dollar a gallon."

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) slammed Grayson's colorful remarks.

“The foul mouthed man-child from Orlando is at it again, taking to the airwaves to bring shame to struggling Central Florida families who want jobs, not nut-jobs," said Andy Sere, spokesman for the NRCC. "But speaking of bases, Alan Grayson’s constituents surely find themselves wishing his parents had never gotten past first.”

Grayson is prime candidate for a hunting accident.
I wonder if he would accept an invitation to go hunting with Cheney. /s

Grayson needs to follow his own advice.

Cheney is one of those quiet kind of guys I would never say that to...not even indirectly.

Yikes.

Dang! That's about the sharpest barb I've heard from a party flack in quite a while. Usually takes a blogger to go that far.

Keep eating your Wheaties there, NRCC.

Love the response from the NRCC. Sounds like someone there might be listening to Rush.

Rep. Grayson does NOT want to get into a battle of wits with Dick Cheney, because the Rep. WILL be unarmed.

Grayson is mentally ill and out of control. The only reason most of us even know who he is is because of his loony outbursts (mostly directed at VP Cheney).

I’m not really thrilled with NRCC’s response, though. It was childish in my opinion.

Hmmmmm....Cheney or Grayson...one is a brilliant former Secretary of Defense with vast knowledge of national security policy, and to put it diplomatically, the other guy is not. Who is brilliant and who isn’t?...lol. My money is on Cheney as the brilliant man.

If someone says something on Hardball and no one is watching, did it make a noise?

Only if a big bowl of baked beans was consumed before the broadcast.

Yeah, they sunk to Grayson’s level with the line about Grayson’s parents. They should know better. Grayson will sink himself no need to go down with him.
