Michelle Duggar Gives Birth to Baby No 19 Early
Trans World News ^ | 12/11/2009

Michelle Duggar, who was hospitalized last week with gallstone issues, gave birth to her 19th child with husband Jim Bob Duggar. The couple, who stars on TLC’s 18 Kids and Counting, welcomed daughter Josie Brooklyn at 6:27 p.m. Thursday at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Josie weighed in at 1 lb., 6 oz and was several months early. She was due in the spring.

A rep for TLC said Michelle was taken to the OR for an emergency C-section. Josie is in stable condition in the NICU. No other details were available. “The most important thing right now is for mom and baby Josie to get as much rest as possible. The family is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes during their recovery,” the TLC rep says.

Michelle, 42, was rushed to the hospital last weekend. In a video message from her hospital room earlier this week, Michelle and Jim Bob said the baby was “going great.”

The Duggar family has not commented.

You know, some of the comments here are simply despicable. I would expect comments like this on a liberal site but on a conservative site? SMH

While creating new life through childbirth is indeed a thing to be celebrated, I sympathize with those who think it can be taken too far.

I think most people have a natural aversion to perceived excess, even of a good thing.

I distinctly remember the thread for baby # 18. Someone made that very same remark. Didn’t go over well. :-o

Congrats but I hope those kids get enough attention from their parents.

Thank goodness for reality shows (<...!) I’m sure they could use the money.

They told the story about having their first baby when they were very young and newly married, and they then practiced some sort of family planning or birth control and she became pregnant anyway, which resulted in either a miscarriage or stillbirth, I don't remember which. They were devastated and prayed and prayed for guidance and made a promise to God that they would accept, love and raise any child that God chose to bless them with. It would certainly appear that they have lived up to that promise.

It was a very touching story and, while I don't presume to speak for the Duggars at all, it very well might explain why they don't practice any form of planning other than God's will. Who are we to judge?

You talk as if you can actually add 1 minute to your life. God is the Sovereign One and it is He who has raised up the Duggar’s to be who they are for such a time as this. Each life given and born is a gift from Him. The Duggar’s joyfully receive this truth as do many of us. By God’s grace the Duggar’s will continue to grow as God determines.

Prayers for this precious little one Josie and her family.

You speak like someone who thinks they have more control than you really do. Trusting God is harder than trusting yourself but it is more of a faith builder.

Psalm 127
1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Prayers up for Baby Josie, her mom, dad, and the whole family.

God bless this couple for remaining open to life, and for rejoicing in every life He sends to them!

My daughter had six C-sections, all resulting in normal, healthy children.

Actually, this family existed very well financially. They are both real estate agents. Of coarse, Mom now stays home and home schools. The Duggars own commercial properties which they rent out. They have no car payments, no house payments and no credit cards.
Here are their family rules:http://www.duggarfamily.com/houseguidelines.html

Not judging, just observing that the pace of her pregnancies might be taking it’s toll. Her last several pregnancies were by c section and the uterus can take being cut open only so many times. Nutrients are depleted, the uterus needs time to heal and rebuild before being used again.

There is nothing wrong in God’s eyes to practice NFP and abstain for several days per month. We are human beings and we have self control. We bash single mothers and fathers and married people who have more kids than they can care for but we celebrate these people just because they’re not on welfare. But they are all doing the same thing—leaving the results of their sexuality to God’s will. Yes it is God’s will even if a baby is born to a crack whore!!

It would normally be their business and no one else’s but they have not remained private. They put their lives on television for the world to see. Therefore we can make observations about them.

Lighten up. A clown car is a marvel of physics and space utilization. I see it as a compliment.

The doctor told her after #18 not to have any more—and her husband was in the room. You’re right—her body deserves a rest. I didn’t know that she had gallbladder problems. This premature arrival is not good news but this would potentially be the first with any problems.
