Christian fundamentalist? Yes I am one. But I welcome my Jewish brothers and sisters who are conservative, and atheist conservatives and any faith that is conservative. I would hate to discourage them from being active members of FR.
I wholeheartedly support fundamental Christian values and morals. They are the foundation of our country. And I say this as a devout, practicing Hindu. I do not in any way feel unwelcome on FR.
(BTW Jim, finally sending my money order tomorrow for my pledge - sorry I’m late!)
Nonetheless I am a lifelong agnostic who is simply, in Pascal's words, "so made such that I cannot believe", and I do reject the idea of a young earth creation.
I would hate to think that this somehow makes me unwelcome on FR.
Attitudes like Jim's don't just discourage us from being active on FR; it caused me to leave the GOP altogether. I've recruited quite a few others since then, because of the same attitude.
That said, this is Jim's site, and he can cultivate whatever culture he wants. And I may not be active anymore, but I do still read the breaking news section in my RSS reader. I think the fact that I still read speaks volumes about the value this site has.
