Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site
12/11/2009 | Jim Robinson

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

Christian fundamentalist? Yes I am one. But I welcome my Jewish brothers and sisters who are conservative, and atheist conservatives and any faith that is conservative. I would hate to discourage them from being active members of FR.

Attitudes like Jim's don't just discourage us from being active on FR; it caused me to leave the GOP altogether. I've recruited quite a few others since then, because of the same attitude.

That said, this is Jim's site, and he can cultivate whatever culture he wants. And I may not be active anymore, but I do still read the breaking news section in my RSS reader. I think the fact that I still read speaks volumes about the value this site has.

Mmmh, Reagan probably would have survived due to his considerable charm.

Of course Reagan survived, conservatives loved him, remember?

Conservatives loved Reagan and they still love Reagan, sam_paine's pulling out a straw dog attack, looking for a new angle to attack conservatism.

Burkian conservatism hasn't changed between 1780 and 1980, but the muddy middle "Reagan Coalition" has splintered dramatically due to single-issue purity tests.

And on the other side, there really were "conservative democrats." (There aren't anymore.)

And in the 1980s, there was hardly such overt communist crazies as the Kos Kiddies represent.

Santorum and Allen have given the GOP the idea that in some places, the 11th commandment should rule. And so we end up with wimpy RINOs instead of radical leftist Dems.

Conservatives still love Reagan, of course! But he would not have beaten Obama in 2008 with the idiots who populate the voting booths now on the other side...

“when u and i were boys in leave it to beaver days it wasn’t ftinge was it?

it was the norm

and we were so much the better for it”

The left is rewriting history in order to deny the “Leave it to Beaver” time ever existed.

Well it DID, and I grew up in it.

Since God was drawn to this discussion, it should be clearly stated that Young Earth Creationism is a fringe belief not just among the general populace (including atheists, "darwinists" etc.) but among Christians. As long as it's a belief, however, it's fine. It stops being fine, when ONLY YECs are advertised as "true" conservatives standing for Christ, and when they support their fringe belief with pseudoscientific, actually blasphemous quackery called 'creation science'.

Why do I consider this blasphemous? Imagine attempts to analyze Christ's blood biochemistry in the context of resurrection... On top of this, of course, 'creation science' is moronic from the scientific point of view, and this gives all conservatives a bad name, at a time when we need credibility to debunk climate junk science.

I am not advocating closing FR to any particular point of view, even the YEC belief. But please, do not try to admonish those of us, who do not subscribe to this belief and debunk the pseudoscience, as conservatives in name only, or even godless commies.

Well, the Republican party once made a hollywood type union activist former Democrat president *LOL ;)

"Yeah, true. And I'm concerned that we'll never make that "mistake" again. Even if Ronald Reagan was resurrected and read his comback speech from a burning bush the conservative base of the 21st century would reject him for cutting an running from Lebanon, or for signing Amnesty, or for allowing 12 million abortions during his two terms, etc etc."

We don't have to theorize, he won his two elections and the overwhelming support of conservatives. George Washington won too and after his two terms were finished we can all look at history and cherry pick the decisions that a two term president has to make, just like we can with Reagan, and we still love them both.

Don't confuse a candidate running for office and whether conservatives like and support that candidate, with a historical study of his administration once it is in the history books and he has moved on to private life.

Conservatives loved Reagan and they still love Reagan, sam_paine's pulling out a straw dog attack, looking for a new angle to attack conservatism.

See my post 875.

The question was about Exodus 4:24, not Exodus 24.

Someone corrected the questioner and that person agreed they were asking about Ex. 4:24.

I posted an answer to the question - am waiting to read a response.

Excellent!!! Proud member of the Pro-God, right-wing extremists site. If being pro-God, pro-life, pro-liberty and pro-America makes me an extremists, then I guess I’m an extremist.
