HOUSTON — Houston’s openly gay city controller has pulled ahead in the race to be mayor of the nation’s fourth largest city, just two days before a runoff election, according to a new poll.

It’s believed if Annise Parker wins Saturday’s runoff, it would make Houston the nation’s largest city with an openly gay mayor.

In Houston, property values have remained stable, unemployment is lower than in other large cities and the city is growing.

And we should never forget the way Houston stepped up to the plate when Katrina was ravagig N.O. without waiting to figure out its compensation.

“And we should never forget the way Houston stepped up to the plate when Katrina was ravagig N.O. without waiting to figure out its compensation.”

Damn Straight.

I grew-up in New Orleans and now live in Austin. In the days after Katrina , I had around 35 people, friends, family and friends of family and friends at my Austin home.

With a dozen or so cars with Louisiana plates in front of my house, I dad strangers knocking on the door offering food, money clothes and extra rooms in their homes.

Restaurants gave us large gift certificates and bars gave us bar tabs.

One guy who I had never met found my email and asked me how many people we had at the house. The next day he was in front of my house with his smoker full of brisket.

When the Louisiana people asked me why they were helping us like that, all I could say is, “This is Texas and that is what we do when our neighbors are in trouble.”

“No, Houston does not have a problem as the city could have a gay mayor, a black mayor, a white mayor, a Hispanic mayor, a Republican mayor or a lesbian mayor.....”

Um, what do you think she would do if a bill requiring that kindergartners be required to learn about the homosexual lifestyle, with no opt out for religious parents? What do you think MS. Parker would do if a bill came across her desk budgeting out millions of dollars to have GLSEN conduct “workshops” for 5 to 7 year olds to become familiar with the gay lifestyle purportedly so they will not become haters?

Ya I am sure she will check her “lesbian” hat at the door and do what is right for the children of Houston.

You are either really naive or a troll, but either way it looks like Houston is going to have a BIG problem.

Um, the mayor of Houston has no jurisdiction over schools.

Um, the mayor of Houston does not sign bills into law, but simply has a vote on the city council.
