Interesting response, so are those below the U Tube video, most are saying how much they like her, some even said they would now vote for her. I think she is doing the right thing with this book tour.

Good to know she’s exactly what she appears to be!
She’s definitely good in front of the camera - recall her Rep convention speech, where her teleprompter failed - and she still delivered a fantastic speech. This, I believe, is why the dems hate her so much. She’s a charming populist (I would call her a populist) who is everything the libs claim to be but are not. She should make a few more appearances like this.

She’s like Reagan: she has natural talent that was furthered when she worked professionally in communications (as a TV reporter) as a young adult.

Shatner thought she was Tina Fey at first. He kept staring. Then, he realized it actually was Sarah Palin.

It was a brilliant bit of a response from her: not only did she expose the trick for what it is, she showed she could take a joke and give as well as she can take all the while she made her point.

She’s very good with smaller nuances as well. For example, she refers to Shatner first as ‘Bill’ and then as ‘Mr. Shatner’ in a single sentence. That is, she’s on the same level as a beloved star, but also respectful of him as an elder as well.

As adults she is very much a real life hero, at least to me and I’m 53 years old, and no I do not live in a basement with my mother.

Same here, I'm 52, a family man and have been around the block a few times. I love what Sarah stands for - and that she actually stands for it - and I support her fully.

I repeat: GO SARAH!

I agree - very much like Reagan!
Recently I saw clips of obama’s campaign speeches, and he’s just not the awesome speaker he’s made out to be. Compared to Sarah, he can’t speak his way out of a paper bag. Obviously the left can’t shut Sarah up. So people are bound to notice and maybe listen. This won’t be good news for obama and crew.

Somebody on that show likes Palin. I suspect it might be Conan himself.

I sure hope so. It might also help that taking the trashy leftist route to ratings is a dismal failure - for Leno too - and maybe even NBC will wisen up and start trying to appeal to the other *60%* of the population.

One hell of a rockstar reception for Sarah.

He interviewed Rush this week and was surprised by him as well. Shatner is NOT a conservative, even though he played one on television. A lot of Hollywood depends on stereotypes...a ten second appearance in an ad, tv show or movie must convey a tremendous amount of cultural bias or past knowledge, for us to “buy” the messenger.
The stereotypes for Conservatives have been that they are stupid in the Hollywood mind, illiterate nearly. When a liberal who embraces those fallacies actually meets the intelligent fact, it comes as a surprise.

“Somebody on that show likes Palin. I suspect it might be Conan himself.”

I’d say Conan wants her on his show regularly. He is a tight ratings race with Letterman, and a few appearances by Palin would see him move ahead, perhaps permanently.

McCain camp allowed a lot of damage to be done to her and she was not able to defend herself appropriately.

You've made me wonder if this was purposeful. I have a truly hard time understanding why the campaign staff seemed to go out of their way to make her canadicy so questionable.

Actually, I'm half-way through her book. Fantastic. Rush was right - so much policy stuff. She ain't no dummy.

Anyway - yes, two of the quotes Shatner read of her's are in the first 100 pages. Haven't seen the third yet (or maybe I missed it).

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Letterman is so identified at this point with panning Palin that it’s a no-brainer for Conan to play at least a little to the pro-Palin crowd.

Oh, and vice versa: it’s a good move on Palin’s part to foster at least a welcoming relationship on Conan’s show.

Not only does she get a swat in at Letterman and his ratings every time she appears, but she provides an incentive for Conan to treat her fairly—which gives her a valuable late-night platform.

When I met Sarah in person and I mean up close like three feet away was back in 1996 ....’m really not trying to pitch too much for her as she is like a neighbor to me as she lives 11 miles away but in Alaska many people have “neighbors” a hundred miles apart out in the bush......Sarah would clean house immediately....and quite dramatically I would surmise, its a no brainer why so many fear her, she is a threat to their existence.

Eye of Unk....

Yes she would clean house. I have the perfect VP to help her. He is becoming the stuff of legends here in Michigan. Perhaps you could mention it to your neighbors in Alaska?

Alan Mulally CEO of Ford Motor Company.

It is funny how desperate O’Brien is. His ratings are tanking and his jokes have a leftward bent to them. He is totally controlled by NBC/GE. His show is unbearable to watch. Nothing like getting one of the most popular conservative women in America to boost your ratings.

...she has this presence...

@@@@@

The first time I ever heard of Sarah Palin was when she was speaking to Brian Lamb on cspan. I was listening on the radio so I had no idea what she looked like, but her intellect, her ability to respond to a variety of questions with clarity and brevity, was really impressive. She was in DC for a governors’ meeting. So for her to have been chosen for a morning meeting with Brian Lamb meant that she was standing out at that gathering of governors.

From that radio show, I started telling everyone (who I discuss politics with) about this great person from Alaska, who would be a real asset to the Republican party.
