Yep, that’s a sure-fire way to put me off camping. Call my parents crazy, that was a summer or early fall activity for us.
My son is on his third straight year of doing that in Michigan. I just had to move out of state for a job and am missing this months campout this weekend.
Some guy in my area killed his wife, cut her up and dumped the body in a park. The Sheriff played him like a fiddle, leaving him alone and letting him call the media and basically hang himself in public. Then, when the case was made, they busted him cold. He did manage a short escape by leaving town in front of an unexpected media team doing a live shot.
The Sheriff decided to not let the guy know he had been followed 24/7 for six weeks.
The minute I heard camping and saw the pictures of the young boys and then Utah, I knew he didn’t take those boys out in that weather. Now, he claims he forgot it was sunday night. I think he forgot to watch enough TV to fool people. He might as well cave now and give the confession.
I did note the woman is a stockbroker.
Given the market conditions, it is possible, at least, that she did some gambling with investors money and lost. THen decided to take a powder.
I could be wrong, but at any rate I’ll wait till the wife (or body) turns up.
Agreed. Totally.
I knew the same thing when Cooper (see link above to that murder story) did the same thing - murdered his wife (he hasn’t been convicted yet) - but put out the teary plea for help in finding her.
Agreed. I saw the guy on TV, and he “sniffled” while talking (as if he was so broken up from crying), and it was very contrived, IMO.
Of course this in and of itself does not make him guilty, but to me, he definitely seemed like he was putting on an act.
I guess he never saw the “Never talk to cops” video on youtube. It can only hurt your case by flapping your gums in front of them.
That’s fine.
I understand not guilty until proven so in a court of law.
However, that means not “legally” guilty til then. It doesn’t mean he didn’t murder her.
Same as OJ.
We KNOW OJ murdered his wife despite his “not guilty” verdict in his murder trial.
I couldn't agree more. It's just sickening that the media scour the blotter reports for any instance of a husband killing his wife in a nation of 300+ million, but horrible crimes committed by women are rarely reported on national media outlets.
To me too.
The missing lady’s father, on the other hand, well his heart was truly breaking.....
This is really not a male vs female thing.
Just that this is the latest “missing wife/mom” crime story to come across the news wires - which led to this post.
It is epidemic. And tragic.
You bet it happens the other way.
Many women are jsut smarter at it than the men are. They seduce another guy, cry about how the guy abuses and hurts them (whether they do or not) and new boyfriend kills mean husband. Then if she was smart and didn’t fall in love with duped boyfriend, and wascareful, he winds up taking the fall.
I agree there is somethign not quite right with his story. Who takes a 4 yo and a 2 yo camping after midnight on the coldest day of the year?
That might make sense - but did you see the husband in the report?
Also there was a mention in that report of some marital difficulties between the husband and wife.
He killed her and he knows where her body is. JMHO.
wives killing their husbands / husbands killing their wives / mothers and fathers killing their children.
It’s almost a derangement syndrome writ large - or maybe it is just plain old depravity and sin.
Just seems like such crimes are just happening on an increasing frequency indicating the sorry state of our country.....the moral fabric is unwinding.
Maybe I am imagining it to be so.
It just makes me SICK.
That is good news.
What a phoney plea....every second of the clip with the husband appeared to be total fake. Who takes their 2 and 4 year olds camping in freezing weather, while leaving the wife home sleeping?! Give me a break! This guy’s lying through his teeth. He probably took her camping as well...dead...and buried her where, after all the winter snow, she’ll never be found....all while the boys probably asleep in the car. Just IMHO, of course.
Exactly. Those poor children! He probably killed her, dumped her body and then took them on this fake camping trip to create an “alibi.” It’s a stupid one.
Or even worse, took her body with him as he took his kids out “camping” and buried it somewhere out there.
Either way- it’s sick evil at work.
Yep - our posts crossed in cyberspace! Totally agree with your assessment.
I’ve taken my kids camping in sub-zero weather. If you plan for it and understand the challenges. It really wasn’t any big deal.
Well yes.
“Family” crimes are just skyrocketing.
We had a case here where a woman poisoned her husband also - killed him. Man was Eric Miller. Wife Ann Miller Kontz (she remarried before being arrested years after the poisoning murder). She was plead guilty to 2nd degree murder and got 25 years.
Then just recently you know the story about the little girl, Shaniya Davis, whose mother allowed this child to be taken, raped, and murdered by a devoid...and has been charged with prostitution (of the child), felony child abuse but not with accessory to murder - not yet.
The epidemic is all such crimes, you’re right, not just husbands murdering their wives, though this latest apparent murder is apparently another one in the “husband kills wife/mom” category.
