Bingo. A friend of mine lives right outside of Houston, she says when the Katrina migration happened Houston immediately went way downhill.

When I lived in Texas 20 years ago, there was a huge gay area of Houston in Montrose. I’m sure it’s even bigger now.

It’s always been a very, very liberal city.

I really doubt those Katrina refugees in Houston voted for the white lesbian over the even more liberal African American man.

What happened was all the liberal idiots from the north came down and contaminated our city. Generally Texas is conservative, except for Houston and Austin.

Only 150,000 people turned out to vote in a city with a population of over 2.2 million. Sounds like low voter turn out.

I always thought Houston was one of the more conservative cities in the country.
