Monday, December 14, 2009 A Tale of Two Walls
By Joseph Farah
Egypt is building a huge metal wall along its border with the Gaza Strip to cut down on smuggling and penetration by terrorists.
When it is finished in 18 months, the super-strength steel wall that cannot be cut or melted will be about seven miles long and extend 60 feet below the ground to inhibit tunnel-digging. It is said to be impenetrable however, no one doubts that smugglers and terrorists won't try to burrow beneath it. But it is a deterrent a big deterrent.
Interestingly, I have heard not one word of protest from the international community about this wall. Contrast this mute non-reaction to the tales of woe sung when the Israelis built similar security fences to protect its civilians from terrorist attacks from Palestinian Authority territories.
That fence, now proven overwhelmingly effective in cutting down terrorist violence, was roundly and bitterly condemned and protested with comparisons to the Berlin Wall and even Nazi concentration camps.
That wall was protested by the major powers in Europe and the U.S. government.
It was also protested personally by Barack Obama.
What about this new wall Egypt is building for ostensibly the same reasons?
Not a word of protest in the U.S.
In fact, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is helping Egypt build it.
Can anyone explain this dichotomy to me?
The only difference I can see between the two projects is that one was built to protect Jewish civilians in Israel and the other is being built to protect Arab civilians in Egypt.
Am I missing something?
I want to go on record as supporting both walls. I'm all for walls to keep bad guys out. I'm opposed to walls built to keep citizens from escaping tyranny. It's just that simple.
While we're on the subject of walls and their effectiveness against smuggling and terrorists, what about the U.S. border with Mexico?
How many times have we heard that a security fence along the border with Mexico would be ineffective?
If it would be ineffective, why is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers helping the Egyptians build one on its border with Gaza?
How many times have we heard it would be too expensive?
If it would be too expensive, why is the U.S. government investing in building a wall along Egypt's border with Gaza?
For those not fluent in Middle East politics and geography, you might wonder why Egypt needs a wall of protection from Gaza.
Until recently, Israel occupied Gaza. Then Israel made a fateful decision to evacuate all Jews from the area in a bid to placate demands from the Jew-hating Palestinian Authority and the ethnic cleansers in the international community the U.S. among them.
It was necessary because the Palestinian Authority wants a Palestinian state that is Jew-free. No Jews are allowed in this new nation being created by the U.S. and the powers of Europe.
The consequences of that decision are still being felt throughout Israel.
Now, instead of having its civilian communities in Gaza attacked by terrorists, the civilian communities in Israel are attacked by Hamas terrorists from Gaza.
Egypt has a slightly different problem.
It never had problems with terrorists while Israel occupied Gaza. Only after Israel left did Egypt face a problem with Arabs! Israel actually protected Egypt's border from infiltration.
Once again, the contrast between the reception to the two fences one in Israel and one in Egypt reveals there are two standards in the Middle East: One for Jews and one for Arabs.
It's OK for Arab nations to erect walls to protect their people from terrorists. It's not OK for the one tiny Jewish state to do so.
Amazing.
1.6 BILLION muslims.
And yet Israel is the cause of all the arabs problems.
Allah is a whimp.
The more I read my Bible, and understand Israels history, and future, the MORE I see todays events fulfilling prophecy, and making the Bible come alive, before my eyes.

Here's a thought I had, after going to another page on that site.
Israel became a nation in 1948. The Bible tells us that this generation will not pass before seeing Christs return.
If we are in the final 70 years, and use 1948 as the beginning of the final 70, then 70 years from 1948 would be????
Now remember a Jewish year is 360 days, 5 days shorter than our year. If you multiplied 5 days times 70 years=350 days, ALMOST 1 Jewish year.
So, here's where I'm going, IF you haven't figured it out so far. 1948 + 70 years = 2018. 2018-1 year (350 days)=2017.
OK...NOW...Here's where it CAN get interesting. JUST for discussion sake. IF we use 2017, by using this Biblical math, explained at the website of your link, as the Second Coming Of Christ...run with me here...Christ RETURNS-AFTER the Tribulation, which is 7 years, and hasn't started YET. So...subtract 7 years from 2017, for the start of the Tribulation, and you have???...
2010
And today is Dec. 15, 2009
Israel became a nation May 14, 1948. Is it POSSIBLE that the Tribulation MIGHT start somewhere between the end of April and the beginning of June, 2010?????
I'm REALLY NOT trying to set a date, BUT May 14, 1948 IS a key date. And 70 years seems to be a key time frame. And we do know the Tribulation period is 7 years long.
ROTB responded to me with a link, and I went to a different page on the link, that was describing some Biblical prophesy, and years, and fulfilment. And started running stuff in my head, and came up with something I thought seemed INTERESTING to say the least. ROTB's response was post #3, followed by my post #4.
As I said in #4, I'm not trying to set dates, I just find it "INTERESTING".
Why not count from ‘67? That way, Israel is whole, having also Jerusalem.
Isaac Newton used the “7 weeks” of Daniel 9:24-27 to count 49 years after Israel is reformed, meaning 1996. But that has passed.
BUT, if we’re supposed to start the 7 weeks or 49 years from 1967, then Christ would return in 2016, meaning ...
THE TRIBULATION STARTED WITH THE ELECTION OF BHO!!!
I dunno. DId that make you tingle?
Thank you VERY much for that ping!!!
Now of course one could make the argument for Jerusalem, as God mentions Jerusalem many times, and seems to have a strong affection for it. So yes, '67 COULD be used. Which is 19 years away.
I never did quite figure out Newtons thinking on that. Except of course 7 x 7 =49. It just doesn't fit, IMO.
Of course if you are right that the Tribulation started with the election of Zero, or his inauguration, then though I lean towards the pretrib Rapture, then I would now be wrong, and must hunker down for either another 2-1/2 years or 6 more years, for the mid or post trib points. :)
“In fact, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is helping Egypt build it.”
When they get done with that, could we send them down to the Mexican border?
I wonder if, when Jesus said that we would know when the Rapture was at the door, this is what He meant?
The powers that be are in hyper drive trying to set up a one world government. And socialism has always been and always will be an economic failure.
The cards, worldwide, are in place like never before. It won't take much to knock it down.
Very interesting, however I do see a couple dates that people are pointing to, which is 2017, 2015 and 2012....
If the start of the tribulation was in (Fall) 2008 then 2015 would be the 7 yrs signaling the return of Christ....
(Based on Mark Blitz and the eclipses) no more eclipses after 2015 based from the holy scriptures...
Also 2012 around Passover would be the half way mark to 2015
If 2017 signals the return of Christ then 2010 would mark the 7 years of tribulation and 2013 would be that half way point, this I am not sure of as far as a date....
Also I really don’t see another figure after Obama coming into power, no Republican or Sarah Palin or democrat..I see the NWO (European Union in Power) and that might be the mid-point of 2012....
In any event I see the Rapture of the Church coming soon could that be 2010, 2012 now? yes, but I do know we are closer than ever and most people I hear from say they feel the presence of the LORD getting closer and closer...
HMMMMM
