Al Franken feuds with GOP's No. 4
Politico ^ | 12/14/09 | MANU RAJU

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) and Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) sparred sharply on the Senate floor Monday evening, a departure from the usually dormant speeches in the august chamber.

Franken said he was struck by a speech in which he said Thune had refused to highlight when benefits to the health care bill would kick in and instead emphasized the negative parts of the bill.

“You know, again, we are entitled to our own opinions, we’re not entitled to our own facts,” Franken said, his booming voice rising. And in a reference to a chart Thune held up, Franken said: “If you’re going to hold up a chart that says when taxes kick in and when benefits kick in, you say 1,800 days, you better include the benefits that do kick in right away.

Al Franken is an idiot - sad but true.

He has no moral compass and no brains. My 12 year-old knows more than he does about American government, the Constitution, and our Founding Fathers.

The Senate is supposed to be a place of professional decorum and polite debate. The Democrats led by Dirty Harry have turned it into a cesspool where freshman comedians think they can lecture and denigrate a fine, respectable, gentleman Senator like John Thune.

What needs to happen is this: Al Franken needs to be sued.

Don’t ask me what for; the liberals never need a real reason. Tie this never-funny-comedian up in court. He has no business writing legislation, he can’t even write a decent joke.

I don’t think he is dumb as freepers think he is. He actually stumped an insurance lobbyist witness with the question how many personal bankruptcy occur in France due to medical bills.

He is dumb. He didn't know either, until a staffer found some obscure statistic and dug it up. Any answer the lobbyist gave would've been wrong, because that dork uses taxpayer money to pay some hack to find all sorts of details about such junk.

So when I say he didn't "know", I mean he merely read off a sheet of paper. He is a clueless boob, just like his Dear Leader BO.

OK, what are they?

As far as I can tell, the taxpayer will be hit 2x for the cost insurance for the next 5 years.

You cannot seriously believe Franken does his own research and formulates his own questions, do you? These clowns, all od them have staff that hand them paperwork which they READ whe they are in session. This is exactly like Obambi does when he makes a speech. Reading from a piece of paper or a teleprompter does not make someone smart.

Gee Jim, I don’t think that’s the type of cordial response the senate’s looking for. LOL!

I used to work with a guy from Minnesota. He thought he was a super genius and kept talking about his invention and how it was going to make him million$. He was also the biggest damn Liberal I have ever met. He was a sponge for NPR and could reguritate the latest talking points ad nauseum. But when I attempted to point out the logical fallacies in what he would say. It was like a iron curtain came down. Very frustrating to me and I eventually just stopped talking to him and did my best to avoid him at work.

In the end he was still working his Union Job when I left to go pursue my own business dreams.

NPR - National Propaganda Radio.

The first thing we must do once the revolution begins is to eliminate taxpayer funding of that brainwashing machine.

Al Franken - what an embarrassment to Minnesota and to this country.

But, actually, a good poster boy for the DemCommie Party in the Senate - which is a JOKE.

Sadly the joke is on this country.

I just don’t get it. Why did the Republicans allow Franken to be seated in the senate ?

It seems he “won” the ellection by miraculously finding votes that were previously lost. Shades of Acorn! Did anyone believe this excrement?

A Senate slot is just too important (thanks to the 27th ammendment). The senate is supposed to balance the States’ interests against the populist interest. NOT be another populist body that’s easier to control sinxe there’s fewer people.

Senator AssHat takes it to a neighboring state’s Senator.

What a sad joke the Senate has become under Dem management.

It still boggles my mind how much this country has slid when a Dufus like this can get elected. If this country is not turned around in the next two election cycles, I have some very grave concerns!

I always thought it was..."Never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man!"

I think you have the original quote correct.

I would never recommend that anyone bother to get into an argument with Franken. He disgusts me!
