Gibson to Interview Obama on 'World News' Tonight (Balt. Sun Critic Rips Obama and Gibson)

Charles Gibson, who steps down Friday as anchor of "ABC's World News," is scheduled to interview President Barack Obama today. The interview is set to air as part of tonight's newscast, which will be anchored from the White House.

I wouldn't be complaining about Obama and his latest TV blitz again if he hadn't used the medium so shamelessly Sunday. Read my comments here. And today, we get more evidence of just how shameless is shameless when it comes to this president and the use of TV for political theater.

Remember in the president's interview with Steve Kroft on "60 Minutes" Sunday how he called the Wall Street bankers "fat cats" and said he was going to get tough with them if they didn't shape up? You should, it made headlines everywhere Monday -- just as if he had actually said something of substance.

I say that because now comes a story from the "Washington Post" that says last Friday Obama's Treasury Department gave Citibank a $38 billion tax break -- that's $38 billion that won't be going into the peoples' treasury. That giveaway would have been okayed right around the time of the "60 Minutes" taping.

Still, I'll be watching "World News" tonight. I wouldn't miss seeing what role President Obama will be playing for the TV cameras today -- and what he says when Gibson asks him how the tax break for Citibank squares with his empty anti-fat-cat rhetoric.

I know Gibson will ask the tough questions just as he did with Sarah Palin last fall, won't he?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, narcissists are very poor liars to those who recognize it for what it is and very good liars to others.

For the average person, if you over emphasize something it means you MEAN it and you will do everything in your power to do what you say to avoid shame.

For narcissists it is the complete opposite. They are motivated not by their own system of conscience and morals, but of learning other people and mimicking them. So they see that over assurance is more accepted because surely the person saying it wouldn’t be so bold as to lie directly and intentionally in your face. But a narcissist has no shame, no moral compass internally, so once it is said and you believed it, it’s over in their mind. Any offense taken is YOUR fault for misunderstanding, or misinterpreting what they said. This has been used repeatedly in the Obama administration. And just like a forlorn lover who is told over and over that ‘yes, I know I swore last time I lied and cheated I wouldn’t do it again, but THIS time I mean it!”, the media is stuck in the abusive “Honeymoon” phase of an abusive relationship with their adored lover.

I was married to an ‘Obama’ and I learned that when he made a direct, precise and bold declaration, it was most certainly a lie. I see these same traits in Obama.

As I said on other threads, when Obama makes a direct and precise statement (usually preceeded by a “let me be clear” or some other disclaimer) is most certainly a lie. And the irony is that just like other narcissists, it is a completely verifiable lie. But also like other narcissists, they have such an ability to manipulate, it is forgiven over and over and over.

LOL...that was my precise thought on seeing the headline. I may actually watch just to see the contrast with the Palin interview. I haven't watched ABC News AT ALL since that fiasco (and they used to be my preferred MSM network).
