Just the headline.

Looks like they are eliminating Zadari’s immunity not former President Musharraf.
ISLAMABAD - State-run TV and private channels are reporting that Pakistan’s top court has declared that an amnesty that had protected the president from corruption charges is illegal.
Wednesday’s ruling paves the way for challenges to President Asif Ali Zardari’s already shaky rule.
It also causes political turbulence just as the U.S. wants Islamabad to step up its fight against Taliban militants.
As president, Zardari enjoys general immunity from prosecution.
But the ruling leaves thousands of other officials, including Cabinet ministers loyal to Zardari, facing reopened corruption and other criminal cases.
Given Zadari’s past corruption, this is not surprising, is it?
Based on an Amicus Curie by Eric Holder?
A headline for our future?
I would guess this is about Zardari, not Musharraf. Zardari is known for his corruption—that’s what earned him the nickname Mr. 10% (his approval rating at one time). People are tired of his corruption and are starting to want Musharraf to come back. First they wanted him gone, now they want him back....make up your minds, people.
I remember two years ago when Musharraf did his “second coup” and started throwing lawyers, judges, and activists in jail.
If we could’ve let Mushy handle *our* laywers, judges, and activists and let Bush handle Pakistan’s policy, the two countries would be vastly improved...
bump
and they have bad weapons.
That sound? Oh, just the firing squads executing the former members of “Pakistan’s top court” along with former members of “Pakistan’s government” and various members of Pakistan’s “fourth estate”. Thanks Ernest. Seriously, this reminds me a little of that climactic scene (one of several, actually) in the movie “A Man for All Seasons”...
Roper: That man’s bad!
More: There’s no law against that.
Roper: God’s law!
More: Then God can arrest him.
Roper: While you talk, he’s gone!
More: Go he should, if he were the Devil, until he broke the law.
Roper: Now you give the Devil benefit of law!
More: Yes, what would you do? Cut a road through the law to get after the Devil?
Roper: Yes. I’d cut down every law in England to do that.
More: And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted with laws from coast to coast, Man’s laws, not God’s, and if you cut them down — and you’re just the man to do it — do you really think you could stand upright in the wind that would blow then?
Roper: Yes.
More: I give the Devil benefit of law for my own safety’s sake.
