Palin supports McCain '100 percent' [Palin pushes back at TMZ 'disprespect' meme]
Politico ^ | Dec. 16, 2009 | Mike Allen

Posted on 12/16/2009 4:38:39 PM PST by Al B.

Declaring that she “was honored and proud to run with him,” former Alaska governor Sarah Palin pushed back hard Wednesday against a report that she had disrespected Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by blacking out his name on a sun visor she wore on vacation.

The website TMZ accused Palin of “a frontal attack on Sen. John McCain” during a Hawaii vacation this week: “Sarah chose to wear a visor from her campaign -- a visor that was emblazoned with the former presidential candidate's name ... that is, until Palin redacted McCain's name with a black marker.”

But Palin said in a statement to POLITICO that she was just trying to “be incognito” -- to go unrecognized and shield her children and husband, Todd, from paparazzi.

The hotel where she was staying had to chase away five photographers, a friend said.

Palin said in the statement to POLITICO: “I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way. I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."

The Palins were taking a break from a three-and-a-half-week book tour for her million-copy-selling memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life.” Palin has signed more than 59,000 books -- an average of 1,750 per stop -- and has traveled more than 19,000 miles by plane and bus. She has spent 115 hours -- or 4.8 days -- signing books in 33 cities in 25 states. Her stops have included five military bases.

A corrolary, do you think supporting a third party will do anything but elect demcrats?

The point is to elect libertarian conservatives.

Not merely to elect Republicans.

For goodness sake, can some ally on the Anti Palin side private email DoughtyONe and let him or her know that he or she doesn’t know the difference between fact and opinion and explain the difference.

I implore somebody to assist DO here.

Good luck to ya, DO and good evening.

Well then who is your choice if not Palin? Who is left?
The owner of this board supports Palin. If not Palin then who?

Not voting is weak and will give us another Obama term. Voting third party won’t work either.

So you’re coming down on the side of Conservatism being able to state it backs John McCain 100%.

Well, nice to know.

“I have stated that Palin made a mistake. You have stated that she has been politically savvy and wise.”

If you wish to state, that neither of these statements is true, then be my guest.

Otherwise, one of these statements is true, and once again you have not been able to avoid reality.

To say that she has allied herself with the R party is not correct, otherwise she would have not supported Hoffman, plus she would not have written such scathing things about McCain's operatives. She has said she will work to try to move the party to be more conservative, and I like that.

Now, you praise Reagan from time to time, I find him to be a great president, and he worked within the party. He is far superior to Coolidge as an example in my opinion. His "three legged stool" is a set of principles I adhere to. Those are the principles we can bond around, and it's pretty clear to me that Sarah is the only electable politician that follows all three.

Ok, I am relieved that it was not a McCain/Palin hat, but just a McCain hat. I was afraid she just marked McCain out and left her name, but that is not what I can gather from the picture. Had she just marked McCain out and left her name out it would of totally blown the "incognito" quote out of the water since leaving her name would definitely be a lie.

Can anyone verify this, that it was just a McCain hat logo and not a McCain/Palin logo?

If you’re having a hard time comprehending the posts, I suggest you have someone on your side explain it to you.

It's the first right thing you've said all day.

You and I aren't on the same side.

I’m not interested in merely electing REpublicans, rather conservative ones. Some libertarians would be fine with me as well.

Mozilla, I have stated that I find it troublesome that Palin could make the 100% statement. To me it indicated there could very easily be storm clouds ahead.

I have not said categorically that I wouldn’t support her. And the sad thing is, your inclusion of me in this post, displays a lack of understanding as to what my views really are.

I’ve made them crystal clear. I don’t know how I could have made them more clear.

As for who to vote for, if Palin really meant what she said, then who would there be to vote for? Good question isn’t it.

You better hope to hell she didn’t fully understand what the implications of that statement were.

"I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection."

Even if it insults your Conservative base?

Big mistake.

If there is a good conservative running and she doesn't support him/her, she's not doing the right thing.

So you’re coming down on the side of Conservatism being able to state it backs John McCain 100%.

Uh, I never said anything like that. On a good day I can't imagine thinking of supporting McCain even half the time.

Did you have a bad day or something? :-)

Let me see, you’ve been attacking people who agree that her comments were unfortunate for hours on end, but think this shot of yours was going to carry any weight with it?

Well..., thanks Chunga. It’s nice to know you thought that information needed to be stated.

:-)

“The owner of this board supports Palin. If not Palin then who?”

If Jim Rob sees Palin openly campaign for McCain, and cost Hayworth an election, I doubt he would feel much inclination to back her.

“Did you have a bad day or something? :-)”

Look, I’m not trying to be unfair to you, but your posts are drafted to make it look like this is MY problem.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time here dealing with insults and avoidance, and it’s just not funny any longer.

You and I agree what John McCain is. I have no idea why you ask if I’ve had a bad day or not. For me it’s always a bad day when Conservatism acts as if it’s schizophrenic.

Either we believe or we don’t.

Absolutely. However, the length of this thread indicates many here disagree with your statement.

I don't see how the length of the thread indicates that.

I didn't read it, just commented.

I think what the comments say would be a more accurate way to decide if my statement is agreed with or not.
