Expect to hear a lot about gun control when the legislature reconvenes in January.
Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles is among those who want to ban the sale of military-style, semi-automatic weapons. "These are guns that I don't see have any function in our society."
Kohl-Welles said she was prompted to act after the murder of Seattle Police Officer Tim Brenton.
"He was believed to be killed by a semi-automatic assault weapon. Of course, we also had the killing of several other police officers not by assault weapons. The point here is that we're having police killed in much larger numbers than the past."
The ban, which is supported by the Seattle Police department would cover all weapons that are capable of rapid fire and can hold more than 10 rounds in a clip.
Also supporting the ban is Washington Ceasefire, a non- profit organization dedicated to reducing gun violence.
The bill in question is called the Aaron Sullivan Public Safety and Police Protection Bill. Which is named for Sullivan who was killed by an assault rifle in Seattle on July 22nd, 2009.
What about all the people each year killed by CARS? Is the slut-bitch going to ban CARS next? LOL.
The most common cause of death on the job among police officers is being hit by autos alright but not semi auto guns but regular automobiles. Maybe we should ban cars.
Oh, I forgot, 0bama is working on that.
Another gun-grabbing pig needs to be stripped of citizenship and deported to a Muslim country.
I might add, we need Initiative and Referendum in Texas. I bet if we get I&R the Republic would rise again.
She has an assault face.....Trying to kill me with it.....

Crap, that’s the second time in 2 days I’ve double posted.
The next big EQ may grant you your wish!
Almost all TEC-9s I’ve ever seen, fired or heard of were jam-o-matics. As world.guns.ru says about the clones: Like [the DC9] originals, AP-9 pistols were of cheap construction and marginal reliability.
The per capita numbers were down so sharply (>70% decrease) that even the absolute numbers were down in spite of a 50% increase in the number of officers.
+++++++++++++++++
And a HUGH increase in the number of firearms in the possession of American citizens.
Washington State? The land of the Lenin Statue?
I didn’t pay attention. Thought it was a US Senator. It’s a state senator-critter.
What the hell is considered rapid fire?
Jerry Miculek, with a revolver.
I was born in the east side and raised on the west side but I haven't lived in WA for 28 years now. Every time I think I might like to go back I see something like this. Forget it, it's lost.
And here is one officer from “the Seattle area” who is against the ban she is talking about.
And Brenton’s murderer most likely drove by me on his way to that despicable act as I was only 12 blocks away when it happened.
More cops are getting killed because crime against productive citizens is rationalized as "justice" against "Fat Cats", the cornerstones of the Street Punk Of the United States.
Obama plays up the victimhood of his targeted tools - nothing new for socialists, but his furious contempt for self determinaton, national identity and community pride is without precedent, at least in my time.
He's a thin skinned hate machine. Whether he inspires one to hate Wall St., Oil Companies, America, or those who've heard enough of his crap parroted in the press and by the drones, he is spreading hate and suspicion.
Taking advantage of turmoil to take away our rights is a hallmark of cummunism.
So is taking away our rights quietly and for no practical reason whatsoever, and Olympia didn't need Obama for that.
Well, I have pre-ban TEC 9, and it is a Fun gun. I use almost exclusively WOLF ammo and it never misfires.
You probably have one of the only ones that never did... just like there are some people (about four or five) who swear that their Yugos have never broken down.
Key here is to push for NO exemptions for law enforcement. As the idiot behind the badge stated, “these guns have no place in society”... so cops obviously don’t need them. If they state any reason at all for wanting them, it must apply to the citizenry at large as well. So, either ban across the board, or no ban at all. Put your money where your mouth is Washington state.
Reality will hit these zealots pretty hard in the face at some point.
