Senate GOP blasts healthcare bill

Senate Republicans blasted the chamber's new healthcare bill in no uncertain terms on Saturday.

"Make no mistake, this bill will reshape our nation and our lives," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said in a statement. "This bill is a legislative trainwreck of historic proportions."

McConnell's Democratic counterpart, Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.), unveiled the final language for his party's healthcare bill while simultaneously sewing up the 60th vote for the bill in Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.).

"The history that's being made here is the ignoring of the will of the American people," McConnell said.

Other Republican lawmakers dumped on the bill, warning in similar terms that the bill would be an historic mistake.

"It is unconscionable for the United States Senate to pass this bill," said Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas).

"At the end of the day, this bill reinforces everything the American people hate about their Congress," Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) asserted.

Republicans by in large have stood unified in opposition to the Senate's bill, though Democratic leaders have courted centrist Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) for her vote.

“”It is unconscionable for the United States Senate to pass this bill,” said Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas).”

Ah-HAHAHAHAHAHA! It is ironic that you say that, Kay, as YOU HELPED IT MOVE FORWARD!!!!

I don’t live in Texas, but I know that Texans see right through your lies and RINOism.

She doesn’t have a prayer of being elected Governor of Texas; she never did. She will be creamed by Gov. Perry in the primary!

We must stop calling this unprecedented oppression ‘healthcare’. It is health CONTROL!

What a weak statement from Graham, sheesh what a damn fool.

Snow will cross over.

THIS is why nobody trusts the republicans. They are useless.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, go to hell!

You are a RINO!

You are no better than a Democrat.

BTW, what Republicans voted for this Nazi Health Care Bill?

List em, if you know and make a record of it.

Bad headline. Makes the Republican Party look opposed to helping the needy underclass.

Better headline: “Senate GOP blasts health takeover bill”

Can the SCOTUS review the constitutionality of a bill before it passes, or does it have to be passed and signed into law first?

They would be standing on his casket to pass the bill, preaching that the American people would us to honor him in this way!

I heard Graham. He’s not entirely worthless.
Remember him grilling Attorney General Holder about Osama bin Laden?

He said senator nelson played “THe PRice is Right”

I didn’t think his remarks were that bad imho.
i know he’s for crap and tax.

Centrist. I suspect her voting record is just shy of Ted Kennedy's voting record. That's centerism for ya.

To hear to media tell it, there probably aren't three leftists in the Senate.

By the same persuasion, water isn't wet, snow isn't cold, and Senators of the United States never commit sedition.

Ignoring the WILL of the people WILL organize the people.

Japan would not invade America because they believed there would be a gun behind every blade of grass.

The truth is that we have several per blade of grass and they are aimed at enemies from within.
