The East Anglia emails are just the tip of the iceberg. I should know.
Few people understand the real significance of Climategate, the now-famous hacking of emails from the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit (CRU). Most see the contents as demonstrating some arbitrary manipulating of various climate data sources in order to fit preconceived hypotheses (true), or as stonewalling and requesting colleagues to destroy emails to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in the face of potential or actual Freedom of Information requests (also true)...
--snip--
Messrs. Jones and Santer were Ph.D. students of Mr. Wigley. Mr. Santer is the same fellow who, in an email to Phil Jones on Oct. 9, 2009, wrote that he was "very tempted" to "beat the crap" out of me at a scientific meeting. He was angry that I published "The Dog Ate Global Warming" in National Review, about CRU's claim that it had lost primary warming data.
The result of all this is that our refereed literature has been inestimably damaged, and reputations have been trashed. Mr. Wigley repeatedly tells news reporters not to listen to "skeptics" (or even nonskeptics like me), because they didn't publish enough in the peer-reviewed literatureeven as he and his friends sought to make it difficult or impossible to do so.
Ironically, with the release of the Climategate emails, the Climatic Research Unit, Michael Mann, Phil Jones and Tom Wigley have dramatically weakened the case for emissions reductions. The EPA claimed to rely solely upon compendia of the refereed literature such as the IPCC reports, in order to make its finding of endangerment from carbon dioxide. Now that we know that literature was biased by the heavy-handed tactics of the East Anglia mob, the EPA has lost the basis for its finding.

I have had a question in my mind since this scandal broke. I believe the IPCC report relies on data from 4 different research groups, one being at the Univ of East Anglia. Where are the other three located and have any of them stepped up to refute the accusations against East Anglia and if not why not?
Sue the ba$tards.
With all the PhD work, college tuition wasted and careers that have been and/or will be undone with this intentionally dishonest scheme, a la Enron—sue Strong, Soros, the Joyce Foundation and/or Gore for fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud.
Parents paying for college educations in studying this fraud should pursue a class action suit against universities promulgating this junk sciencefor abuse of the public welfare and violation of universities charters?
Were I still paying tuition someplace, or using the services of someone schooled in this method of perverted science, or performing research based on such science, I would be more than angry about now. This fraud is intentional. While public figures and supporting organizations, the monied people at the center are hoping to rake in trillions from this fraud. They are not immune to any of it, and in fact are deep in it.
With the trillions at stake on the side of those complicit in it, and obvious moneymakers in that mix, is there not redress?
Because, according to other reports, they were all working in collusion.
Do you have any links to those reports?
I am afraid I don’t. It’s been posted here on FR, as I recall, but means there’s a lot of stuff to wade through.
The magazine used to be about real science, engineering, and accomplishments.
This one was full of PC "green" garbage, make work crappola, propaganda, and lies.
The engineering and hard sciences fields have been overtaken by this scam. That's were the $$$ in grant money are.
I hope so. Taxpayers shelled out $80 billion, IIRC, but I'm not sure if that was just the USA or worldwide.

Global warming and the 'settled science' baloney
Some noteworthy articles about politics, foreign or military affairs, IMHO, FReepmail me if you want on or off my list.
They’d like to but they are apparently reluctant to do so. I’ve read that the Hadley Center data was used to “calibrate” the other data sets.
Interesting. The fact that the other research centers have not stepped up to defend the East Anglia data is telling for me. If they could refute the accusations it seems to me they would.
I had posted some of that on one of the threads.
CLIMATE STATEMENT "AN ORCHESTRATED LITANY OF LIES" ( Dr Vincent Gray )

The Evolution of the Global Temperature Record ( Skullduggery with Darwin, Australia records)
You are absolutely right — there should be lawsuits galore to take down all of these charlatans who have been profiting on this scam. Gore’s become a near billionaire peddling this nonsense. His friend Maurice Strong is a billionaire thanks to all these manipulations of NGOs around the world promoting his and the UN’s causes. Shareholders of GE should be demanding Jeff Immelt’s scalp for committing GE to this ludicrous “Eco-magination” strategic focus where GE “partnering with the Federal Government” for all of this loot and graft.
And yet, the pressure still continues to pursue this cr*p like Cap & Tax. Where are the sharp lawyers who should be promoting the suing of these b*st*rds? I’m waiting for a 1-800-Sue The B*stards! commercial.
Thanks for the links.
Hav you seen This?
thanks for the ping
