Non-stop Rosary vigil to defeat ObamaCare
Posted on 12/19/2009 5:17:02 PM PST by giotto
The 60 votes are there for ObamaCare to pass in the Senate. The only thing preventing a vote is a blizzard in Connecticut, where Joe Lieberman went home for Sabbath. So you might say that God is the reason, both for sending Joe home and for sending the snow storm.
I'm beginning to think that it will take a miracle to stop this massive take-over of the health care industry. So I propose an ongoing Rosary vigil. How it works is that I begin by saying a Rosary. When I finish, I reply to this thread. Hopefully, someone else will then take up the vigil and pray. If you decide to join us in prayer, please reply to this thread. It doesn't have to be a whole Rosary. It can be one decade, or even just a Hail Mary. Comments are welcome.

TAPPER: And there’s a big debate right now within the Catholic Church about this bill, and a lot of these last few members that you’re trying to get are Catholic democrats who oppose abortion. And I’m wondering, first of all, how you can side with nuns over bishops?
BIDEN: That’s easy. I love the nuns.
TAPPER: And, second of all, what you’re telling I assume that some of the people you’re calling are these Catholic Democrats because you.
BIDEN: Sure.
TAPPER: Because you have the same faith.
BIDEN: Yes. I mean, they happen to be similar (ph). I’m not calling them because of that. I’m calling a lot of people who have other concerns about the bill.
TAPPER: Right. But they are among those who you’re calling?

To: pbear8; giotto; Mrs. Don-o; Northern Yankee
Thanks, pbear8. Said a rosary yesterday with my husband while walking the dogs, and another one at a pro-life march today.
Today, March 20th, which would have been my mother's 89th birthday, I remembered her in prayer as my husband, my 19-year-old daughter, myself, and a "very" pro-life friend [Jerry] of my daughter's, joined Pro-Life Action League's, Eric Scheidler, and his dedicated group of some 75 prayer warriors for his monthly protest 4 Life at the Planned Parenthood in Aurora, IL. A couple street-side counselors continually shouted out as the women exited their cars with their boyfriends, fathers, and mothers, and walked towards the door that no one ever leaves the same from, "Please, we have information for free ultrasounds. Take a pamphlet. Have an ultrasound before you abort," and so on, as the prayers of the Sorrowful Mysteries continued right outside PP's doors, and the "escort service" dressed in bright green, made sure the victim reached her destination-for-death and a lifetime-of-regret, safely. "It's so sad, mom. They don't understand what they are doing; they are young, some were even younger than me, and they have no knowledge. Their parents haven't taught them well and their 'friends' are lying to them," my daughter said. "If they saw the baby in an ultrasound, with its little heart beating, most of them wouldn't go through with it. I know they wouldn't."
Sometimes it feels hopeless, until you see the determination on the faces of others, who come in 20-something degree weather (at the end of March nonetheless), snow pelting their faces, all to try to save the Life of one little human being, and the mother from never-ending sorrow.
Jerry mentioned to Eric's friend that the huge photo of the decapitated fetus (on the road entering PP) could be replaced next time with the enlarged printed words "FREE ULTRASOUNDS" to see if that might be helpful.
For those who haven't read them yet, I repeat the words of Fr. John A. Hardon when he said (in 1996),"Let me repeat in the clearest words in my disposal. I would restate our thesis in two propositions. Proposition #1 There is no stopping abortion without an ocean of grace from Jesus Christ. No way will human means stop abortion. Proposition #2 The principle source of this grace is the Holy Eucharist."
Pray, march, protest, fast, and take part in the Sacraments to abolish abortion 4-ever from this earth. Online Rosary

Wonderful post, mlizzy! It takes true dedication to brave the snow and sleet like that—with cheerful faces even! May God send sunny days to Aurora, Il.

[applause] Good job, Northern Yankee! That's what it's going to take ... It seems to me that Obama is so crooked, that he's going to make sure this passes, no matter what devious means are necessary, but I continue to pray as always ... God is stronger, God is stronger!

Thanks a lot Mrs. Don-o. I appreciate your prayers more than you know. It seems right when you think you can't pray more, or focus more on good and Godly things, that a breeze comes by so-to-speak (prayers!), and you can pick yourself up, and continue on your path. My prayers are with you too.:):)

I think often at times like this Jesus's comments to Pilate at the time of the trial (John 19:11):
Jesus answered him, "You would have no power over me unless it had been given you from above; therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of the greater sin."
We don't always understand the ways of God, but there are reasons for everything.
Didn't today used to be Passion Sunday? I remember years ago during Mass we would read The Passion. As a child that always excited me because I knew Palm Sunday was only a week away.
