I hope all 60 democrats get pink slips by their party in 2010

The problem isn't with the Democrats. It's with our neighbors. Middle America is content with Democrats and content with the confiscation of wealth.

Conservatives need to redirect their venting away from Obama, Reid, Pelosi, et al., and begin to tell their neighbors to keep their hands to themselves.

I agree with everything you said in your post....with a few exceptions.

My two points notwithstanding, I still wish to God that Bush was president today. George W. was light years better than that communist Obama.

Thank you. It is good to see that at least there are some people who are smart enough to see through the liberal media lies. Thank you for being a true conservative and patriot.

I'll reply more fully to your specific points when I have time. I have to work 12 hours a day to give up my money that government takes at the point of a gun from me . The government then uses my money and the money of the job creators to give "scientists" global warming grants, to support dead beat democrats who don't want to work, and to fund this massive government.

I support the GOP because it has been the only viable opposition to the Democrats/Marxists and their socialist takeover of America. These “conservatives” who hate the GOP can't see that they are puppets of the liberal media , helping to destroy the GOP , the only viable opposition to the Democrats/Marxists. And I've tried to make some of these here and other places see this but they are too brainwashed to see that they and their lack of support for the GOP helped the liberals achieve a democrat dictatorship, 60% of the votes in the Senate. These anti-GOP conservatives say the same thing liberals and the liberal mainstream media say, repeating the same old tired spin, and scurrilous, slanderous lies to demonize the GOP and anyone that supports the GOP.

The alliance of the liberal media, liberals and anti-GOP conservatives destroyed the GOP. So much so that now all we have is ourselves, the people to stop the Democrats/Marxists and their big government. God help us. May God give us the courage to do what we have to do to save America, our way of life, and freedom itself.

Just watching the senate debates (7:30PM Monday) and heard Senator DeMint describe a provision in the ObamaCare Bill that changes the Senate's rules such that future Congresses can not change the bill. Heard something about the rule change maybe unconstitutional since there can not be a bill that changes the Congress's rules.

Anyone else hear this or understand the meaning?

No Congress can bind a future Congress from repealing an earlier enactment. Period.

I agree, but the rule change almost makes it impossible to change the bill. Second, I thought a bill can not make a Senate (or House) rule change or else than the next congress would require 67 votes in the Senate to change the bill.

This could become very interesting.

I agree with that. And the first time someone bitches about their taxes going up etc I am going to ask them if they voted for 0bama. If they say yes, then I am going to unload and tell them to shut the hell up...they put us all in this cess pool.

Each House can make its own rules. But just as they may use 67 votes in the Senate as the thresh-hold for a filibuster, a new Congress may make its own threshold and at all times they have the so-called nuclear option to simply require 50 votes for passage.

Even my 21-year-old Ron-Paul-ish daughter thinks something's up with this administration. We talked about it the other day and agreed that nothing makes sense these days. Our representatives don't listen to us, don't even act concerned about our anger, which makes me think they know the voters in this country will have no power at all in the future. Scary times, indeed.

>>Your posts shows that you have no idea of how the government works or of economics. Republicans only had a bare majority in the Senate not the 60%<<

I stopped reading after the first sentence. Save your Kool-aid drinking bullcrap for your lil moderate rino buddies.

Come on in and join the conservative movement...will ya.

Over at Redstate - just confirmed:

On December 21, 2009, however, Harry Reid sold out the Republic in toto.

Upon examination of Senator Harry Reid’s amendment to the health care legislation, Senators discovered section 3403. That section changes the rules of the United States Senate.

To change the rules of the United States Senate, there must be sixty-seven votes.

Section 3403 of Senator Harry Reid’s amendment requires that “it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection.” The good news is that this only applies to one section of the Obamacare legislation. The bad news is that it applies to regulations imposed on doctors and patients by the Independent Medical Advisory Boards a/k/a the Death Panels.

Section 3403 of Senator Reid’s legislation also states, “Notwithstanding rule XV of the Standing Rules of the Senate, a committee amendment described in subparagraph (A) may include matter not within the jurisdiction of the Committee on Finance if that matter is relevant to a proposal contained in the bill submitted under subsection (c)(3).” In short, it sets up a rule to ignore another Senate rule.

Senator Jim DeMint confronted the Democrats over Reid’s language.

You don’t care to read the truth you democrat.

You say the same things liberals/democrat/Marxists say.

All you and liberals do is slander the GOP anyone who supports the GOP.

The liberal media and liberals also said Reagan was the biggest spender. That was another lie. There is a thing called inflation, military buildup and mandatory spending. you and other “conservatives” who bash the GOP have no clue about anything .

That one alone is worth giving Dingy Harry a high-speed lead injection.

Theoretically speaking, “of course”.

Is it time for the Revolution to recapture our Constitution, yet?!

And I have/will do the same.

I’ll also add “ I HOPE you have some CHANGE” left over now that you see what you really bought.

Oh, I guess you didn’t realize this wasn’t about taking care of the middle class. It’s about buying votes from non taxpayers to reinsure election.

Do the right thing in 2010 and save whatever honor you have left.
