Democrat Robin Carnahan and Republican Roy Blunt remain locked in a tight race to become the next U.S. senator from Missouri.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds that Carnahan attracts 46% of the vote while Blunt earns 44%. In September, both candidates were at 46%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

Forty percent (40%) of Missouri voters favor the health care legislation being considered by Congress while 57% are opposed. Those figures include 25% who Strongly Favor the legislation and 47% who are Strongly Opposed. Overall, the Missouri numbers are very similar to the national average.

Carnahan leads overwhelmingly among those who favor the health care plan and holds a two-to-edge among those who are somewhat opposed to the plan. Blunt has an overwhelming advantage among those who Strongly Oppose the health care plan.

Sixty-three percent (63%) of Missouri voters believe that passage of the legislation will increase the deficit and 81% say passage is likely to mean higher taxes for the middle class.

Beating Carnahan is very doable and another 2010 Dem Senate seat in jeopardy.

Well, ACORN (or its surrogate) will be rushing to MO to bulk up its Dem registration.

Show State voters will really sour on the Dems once ObamaCare becomes law.

Anyone who, at this point, is not leading a (D) incumbent, is a LOSER and should be replaced STAT.

Let’s see... 81% know it will increase their taxes, yet the Democrat leads the Republican ... are these people nuts? If the American populace is that stupid we may deserve what we are getting!

It’s women. Women are the only thing holding Obama up at this point, and make all the difference in every one of these national races, this one included.

Agreed. I am in Texas but I hope the Tea Party activists are joing the Republican party in order to have some influence.

Rushing? They are already entrenched. They got the courts to keep the polls open late on election day, STL City & County Prosecutors are the Missouri Truth Squad for Ozero, SEIU thugs beating Ken Gladney, on and on. A good source for McCaskill and the Carnahan’s actions we have 24thstate dot com.

Blunt will carry southwest Missouri. Carnahan will carry St. Louis, KC and Columbia. Carnahan wins.

Please pardon my ignorance but is Blunt a solid conservative?

Perhaps a visit from Sarah can help?

I don’t think Sarah Palin wants to move to Missouri.

Every car I see with an Obama sticker on it is being driven by a white woman. I don’t mean “some”. I don’t even mean “most”. I mean “all”.

It’s more than a little spooky.

As far as I know, he’s pretty solid. He was the President of Southwest Baptist University when they did some things that caused people to be upset, but had to be done to remain true to the school rules.

I have "Jokerized" Robin Carnahan for anyone in Missouri who wants to make some posters and slap them on light poles or what-not:

The image is pretty big (1943 x 2202). I played with the html code to get it to display at 450 x 509 so that it won't take up the whole page.

Note: I hereby place this image into the public domain. Have at it, and feel free to use it as you wish.

Cheers
