Voting Against Government-Run Health Care
Real Clear Politics ^ | December 24, 2009 | Sen. Tom Coburn

Posted on 12/24/2009 1:56:42 PM PST by Kaslin

This vote is indeed historic. This Congress will be remembered for its arrogance, corruption and stupidity. In the year of 2009, a Congress ignored the coming economic storm and impending bankruptcy of our entitlement programs and embarked on an ideological crusade to bring our nation as close to single-payer, government-run health care as possible. If this bill becomes law, future generations will rue this day and I will do everything in my power to work toward its repeal. This bill will ration care, cut Medicare, increase premiums, fund abortion and bury our children in debt.

This process was not compromise. This process was corruption. This bill passed because votes were bought and sold using the issue of abortion as a bargaining chip. The abortion provision alone makes this bill the most arrogant piece of legislation I have seen in Congress. Only the most condescending politician can believe it is appropriate to force Americans to pay for other people's abortions and to coerce medical professional to take the lives of unborn children.

I have a dear friend who is a devout Catholic who opposes Abortion. She is outraged that her money will be used to fund abortions that she religiously is against. These corrupt, arrogant dictators have awakened a sleeping Giant that they will wish they hadn’t. I know of no one; no one, that supports this and who isn’t livid.

Please watch this if you haven’t already, and please forward to as many American patriots as you can.

Merry Christmas and God Bless Our Troops who are fighting America’s enemies abroad. It is up to us to oppose and defeat the power-hungry, corrupt enemies of freedom and enemies of our Constitution within our government.

What else is to be expected of the greasy arrogant jerks that so many fools voted into office. Each day as I look about at all the known and unknown liberal idiots that regularly and with alarming consistancy elect these un-American bullies into office, I wonder what goes through their pea brains. I am amazed that they even have enough brain power left to make their hearts function after their constant barrage of brainwashing from the leftist media. I wonder what they will feel when the fruits of their actions come home to roost with them?

Two things to start right away.

1) Call it what it is: HealthControl

2) Insist as a matter of equal rights that all the parasite classes, I am specifically thinking of Congress and their staffers, and the layabouts in unions, are compelled to submit to the same, single plan.

Frankly, HealthControl is a stealth population reduction by design.

She could Protest by not paying taxes on religious grounds.

To this She could Protest by not paying taxes on religious grounds.

...I should have added such protests (anti-war, anti-abortion, etc.), have been unsuccessful in all court rulings.

I would contend this bill is Exhibit A in the American people's case against Washington. Soon enough, the American people will have the opportunity to ration the terms of the elected officials in Washington who sought to impose their will on the public.

I hope Coburn is correct. If not, it makes me wonder if this country is worth saving.

The president and his allies genuinely believe that expanding government's control over health care is the way to control health care costs, improve lives and extend life spans.

And that is a f-cking bold-faced lie!

"I don't question their motives, but I do question their judgment."

I question their motives.

They want to control our lives, bodies, money, everything.

This is not about healthcare; Dems motives are entirely questionable. They are slavemasters in the making, and I reject them and their motives entirely!

“I wonder what they will feel when the fruits of their actions come home to roost with them?”

They still won’t see that they caused it ... they think things ‘just happen’.

Unless you are talking about George Bush who didn’t stop Katrina from happening.

“Only the most condescending politician can believe it is appropriate to force Americans to pay for other people’s abortions and to coerce medical professional to take the lives of unborn children.”

Apparently there are quite a few politicians who believe it is appropriate to force Americans to pay for other people’s abortions. Not a surprise given those same politicians believe it is appropriate to force some Americans to pay to raise the children of people who procreate without having the resources to feed, clothe, house and educate those children. Even worse they believe it is appropriate to force taxpaying citizens to work to pay for the upkeep of other citizens children but do not believe in forcing those deadbeat citizens to work to pay for the the upkeep of those same children.

The elites behind this drive to slavery for the American people understand what they are doing and have no intention of having the fruits of their actions come home to roost with them. This health bill is for the masses, the elites will have their own special facilities and physicians.

This Bill reminds me of the Kansas-Nebreska Bill and we all know what that led to.

When the smoke cleared after that Bill passed, the Northern Democratic Party had been wiped out.

I think nuadvntur was talking about the voters not the pols, and I definitely meant the voters when I said they think things ‘just happen’, but you are right of course about the elites.

Thank you Tom Coburn and Jim DeMint for fighting to the bitter end and standing up for those of us who oppose this tyranny. Your efforts will not be forgotten.
