Because, as I understand it, names can’t be screened until they are actually on the jet to the US, as nations will not cooperate with the US no-fly list. . and only will do so once the jet is airborne and en-route to the US.

Well, that sounds like a problem that needs looking into. If we can’t screen them until they’re airborne, there needs to be a way to kick them off the plane (preferably at 35,000 feet)...

Agree, and our closest “allies” are the ones protecting personal privacy of the passengers and will not cooperate. Only provide the names AFTER takeoff and en-route, to do otherwise would be to invade privacy and help the US WOT. . .and we can’t have all that profiling and such going on, now can we. We can’t deny boarding of a jet in another country, nope, can’t do that, so no check with our no-fly list.

I realize that you’d have to have been there to appreciate it, but I would think that this situation would be the perfect example of a “free swing” in terms of self-defense (and vicarious self-defense) and would be the ideal opportunity to simply kill the MF. Who could question one who, in that situation, never loosened their grip on his trachea?
Word is, that the perp had his device blow up and burn on his lap. Water was called for as he tried to remove his burning pants. After the fire was extinguished......
