What if he had succeeded? What would we be talking about now? Would 0 think it was a good reason to interrupt his vacation?

He could have succeeded and NOTHING the government did kept him from killing some Americans. Every government employee should be sent to Pakistan. Wait, they have nukes, how about, Bangladesh.

MSM reports: He acted alone. The bomb was crude. Bomb may not have done much damage. Not on any terrorist watch list. No proof of any link to terrorism. No mention of his religious convictions. Nothing to see here move along.

You get a very different impression from Fox News.

He was flying from Nigeria to the United States for a religious ceremony...

What freaking religious ceremony??? He's got the whole stinking Middle East and he comes to America from Lagos for a religious ceremony??? BS. Pure BS. Red flags should've been going up all over the place at Customs or Homeland Security or whomever is responsible for screening out incoming terrorists. And he should never have been given a visa based on that lame, weak-a** reason for visiting America.

Think of the PR coup they would have established ... Yemeni Al Q “strike” on a mayor American city on CHRISTMAS ... the news on Fox reports that everyone but DU acknowledges that this is probably a “new type of device” they were trying and that he does in fact have terrorist ties ... they believe the explosives were Al Q by way of Yemen and that the airport second screening failed ... even though they admit, he was on a “second tier” list ... as if there should be such a thing ...

These people are giving us our best reason to BAN ALL MUSLIMS
from non-Islamic country aircraft . ALL of them ...a blanket ban . I don’t care who they are or how ‘innocent ‘, the whole damn gang of them should be made to pay for the sins of the few . Maybe then the majority will finally stop this crazy s#it. IF they are forced to feel the heat from what their
insane nutcase members do .
Just do it and screw them if they don’t like . They can walk or swim .

Al Qaeda looking to Yemen as next base

Officials say move already underway

Several of the leading Al Qaeda figures now in Yemen were released from the US prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, including Ibrahaim Al Rubaish, one of the groups’ leading religious ideologues, who is affectionately known as the “poet of Guantanamo,’’ according to militant videos broadcast on the Internet and considered authentic by US intelligence officials.

If our President and Home Land Secretary don’t start taking these threats seriously, I fear, unlike Europe, we’ll begin to see some type of vigilante justice begin.

Firecracker? I don't think so! Terrorist Attempt Update: Bomb Was Incendiary, Comprised of Mixed Liquids; Obama Only Notified Three Hours After Incident

More:

A Nigerian man, claiming to be linked to al-Qaeda, allegedly tried to set off an incendiary device aboard a transatlantic airplane Friday as it descended toward Detroit's airport in what the White House called an attempted act of terrorism.

The man was quickly subdued after another passenger leapt on top of him, others on the plane said, and Northwest Airlines Flight 253 from Amsterdam landed safely around 1 p.m. Friday. The suspect was being treated at a hospital for burns he suffered while igniting the device...

The suspect[,] Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab[,] 23, attends University College London, where he studies engineering.

Although not on the TSA's "no-fly" list, Abdulmutallab's name appears to be included in the government's records of terrorism suspects, according to a preliminary review, authorities said.

Abdulmutallab has told federal investigators that he had ties to al-Qaeda and traveled to Yemen to collect the incendiary device and instructions on how to use it, according to a federal counterterrorism official briefed on the case. Authorities have yet to verify the claim, and they expect to conduct several more interviews before they determine whether he is credible, the official said.

Federal authorities have been told that Abdulmutallab allegedly had taped some material to his leg, then used a syringe to mix chemicals with the powder while on the airplane, one official said.

But doing so "caused him to catch on fire," Richelle Keepman, who sat a few rows in front of Abdulmutallab, told WDIV-TV.

...

Officials described the device as incendiary rather than explosive, pending tests by forensics experts at the FBI. Incendiary devices generally deliver less of an impact than explosive devices.

The Nigerian was subdued by a Dutch citizen, Jasper Schuringa. He used his hands to stop the fuse the Nigerian ignited. The Nigerian managed to smuggle the explosives unnoticed thu Schiphol srcurity, the PVV (Freedom Party) demanded an emergency council on this.
