Yes, but his ideas live on. We have guns as well, and there are more of us than them.

Few stand more in awe of Mr. Jefferson than I. I have several times paid the entrance fee at Monticello just to walk up to his gravesite.

There is more to revolt than just having guns. Organization probably counts more than guns. The Tea Parties are nice but they are just that: tea parties.

The Tea Parties are nice but they are just that: tea parties.

The Founders found themselves in their War after merely getting together to write letters to the king. This is analogous to those who attend "Tea Parties" and return from foreign wars being declared as terrorism suspects by the federal government. Patriots of today will not fire the first shot, that will be the function of our tyrannical government.

I do agree that we need to organize. Even the Founders "organized" by merely writing letters and newspaper articles. We are, however, going down exactly the same path.

If not us, who? If not now, when?

Nice paraphrase. But it's also about imposed disorganization.

[[Thomas Woods: States Can Nullify Unconstitutional Federal Laws!]]

Yes, but it sucks for those folks hwo live in states that won’t nullify unconstitutional federal laws, and our federal government thrives on creating law that is unconstitutional knowing that many states won’t constest hte laws and will just buckle under for fear of being punished financially by hte government- little by little, the govenrment is trampling the constitution and getting away with it.

While states can nullify federal law individually, it would be much better to nullify the law nationally- upholding our constitution for EVERYONE, not just for htose in states that buck the govenrment’s attempts at usurping the constitution

[[It’s time to nullify nearly everything coming from these DC fascists. What’s king obuma going to do? March a brigade of bed-wetting New York metrosexuals down to Texas to hit the governor over the head with a purse.]]

Actually he’s ammassing an army of ‘militia’ (can’t remember hte name of the group- but it’s somethign like the ‘praparedness brigade’ or somethign liek that- I’m probably way off on the name- but basically it’s a group of trained individuals who will be called into action if there are any serious threats or opposition to his policies) There was also the ‘civilian something or other corp’ that he was ammassing- The dems have been preparing to trample our consitution for al ong time now, and they KNEW full well they would meet resistence, which is why obama has been amassing these groups- Make NO mistake about it- Obama and hte far left ARE INDEED anti-American/Anti-Constitution

This makes no sense to me. Care to explain?

Liberty Trees were trees where old style colonial candle lanters would be hung as a signal that this was a place for gathering to discuss political circumstances.

It was not just a figurative symbol it was also a literal tree (elm BTW).

Liberty Trees were trees where old style colonial candle lanters would be hung...

OhForPeteSakes! I should have remembered that! Getting old, I guess.

Yes, we need signaling for gathering places as well. I suppose Bud Light bottles might get too many people just standing around.

The infor is stored on the database of the DHS. It is not on the card. You have no priviledge to your own information that the DHS has collected on you. Especially if you are crossing borders as that falls under the new Executive Order 12425.

Hi Jim. Judge Napolitano is one of the best national spokesmen for freedom out there. He spoke of an upcoming series on the Constitution. I don't get Fox on TV. I'd like to be on whosoever ping list it is that will be following Judge Napolitano, his input, and especially this series. Are you or anyone in FR going to run threads on him?

With federal connivance, sure.

The "sanctuary" movement of the 1980s was a nullification of federal immigration laws.

Practical "nullification" of those laws goes on to this day.

Washington either doesn't care or doesn't want to or can't make state and local authorities comply with federal immigration law when state and local governments don't want to, so city and state agencies do as they please.

But is that really a good model for how government should work?

Woods is one of those people who believes that the Articles of Confederation were a better system than the Constitution.

He has the right to think so. But he may be treating the Constitution as though it were the Articles. That would be a problem.

Thanks for the ping. Judge Napolitano (the polar opposite of Obama's Janet Napolitano) is good people. He expresses clearly and simply the common sense that we who have half a brain already know. I'd like to be included on a Judge Napolitano ping list if you have access to one.

Thanks.
