Senator Max Baucus denies being DRUNK during Senate speech
Syracuse.com ^ | 12.29.09 | Trish LaMonte

Montana Senator Max Baucus, who led the Democrats' health care reform legislation through the Senate last week, is responding to accusations that he was intoxicated while delivering a speech on the Senate floor.

Video of the speech posted to YouTube over the weekend shows Baucus appearing to slur some of his words and repeating himself at times.

Baucus' spokesman Tyler Matsdorf released a statement on Monday refuting claims that the Senator was drunk, calling it an 'untrue personal smear Internet rumor.' Matsdorf said, "This is beyond the pale and this type of gutter politics has no place in the public sphere. It is this type of slander that makes Montanans, and Americans, disgusted with the politics as usual in Washington. And what is even more sad is that such a personal attack would be given any validity at all, let alone being elevated to the status of news."

Former Florida Republican Rep. Mark Foley posted a video clip of Baucus' speech on his Facebook page on Sunday, and wrote: "breathalyser for members of congress."

Wait a minute!

I thought we were at war with Eastasia and had always been at war with Eastasia!

What? We’re not? We haven’t?

Okay, okay, I know the drill! I’ll report to the Ministry of Love right away...

Google Spiking Drunk Baucus Story

Google has begun to bury this story to protect the Dems. Yesterday, when you searched for Baucus, at the top of the list of suggestions was "DRUNK" as shown below.

Now, today, if you type in Baucus Drun... NOTHING appears in the suggestion list for Drunk, even though it is the most commonly searched term. Google went in and fixed the algorithm manually to protect the Dems.

Yesterday...
No sense showing today's screenshot as you can check yourself... it's gone!

Unless he is diabetic, the man was drunk.

If he wasn’t drunk, what was his problem? Stupid? Senile? Is he always like that?

Great work on Sen. Bacchus . . .

Being from Montana in a past life. I do know this guy talks with his mouth full of gerbil scattershot.

But . . . think about it this way.

Intoxication is his best defense—at least that way he could show some shame. Imagine the shame of the folks back home that this was their senior senator SOBER, for heaven’s sake.

He was drunk on something and alcohol was part of it. He's just saying he was not falling-down, crawling on the ground drunk but his speech was definitely slurred and repetitive and senseless. Guilty as charged.

I saw it and my observation was that he was drunk or somehow impaired. Added to this, he said nothing of any importance or that made sense. If not drunk, then he is naturally inarticulate and mentally slow. Wake up, Montana. This is the best you have to offer?

How about passing a law that would require a BAC and drug test for both house before they can cast a vote? I would love to know who is voting under the influence. (VUI)

I also recommend the following for VUI:
Violation 1 - Permanent loss of all government retirement money.
Violation 2 - Loss of all government employment of any type.

Max Baucus or your own lying eyes.

We have a winner! The man can barely string two sentences together without a script. I've seen it in person.

I’m gonna go with my lyin eyes and not the lyin Senner, er . . . Senncrat, totally not Publican, from Montana.

Anybody got a transcript of his remarks? I’m thinking that the tirade on vid, lasting 6 minutes or so, had maybe 30 vocabulary words in it, not counting the new words he invented for the moment.
