Tough first year hits Obama's ratings hard [Obama still on training wheels]
Washington Times ^ | 12/30/09 | By Kara Rowland

The curtain is coming down on a tough first year for President Obama, whose poll numbers have dropped dramatically in the face of rising unemployment, a slipping legislative agenda and painful decisions on health care, the economy and the war in Afghanistan.

His support has faltered on all those key issues - and from both ends of the spectrum. Opponents blame him for expanding the size of government while some in his Democratic base accuse him of not pushing hard enough for his agenda

Al-Qaeda: The System Worked!

Showing that air safety is now being taken seriously by authorities, a suspicious passenger was swiftly booted off a plane in Florida this week after appearing 'belligerent' and being 'difficult' with flight attendants. Not only that, but in mere minutes the suspect was identified as Ivana Trump. The skies are safe again! See? The system worked great.

And in yet another milestone, another day passed without a major security breach at our airports!

And Abdulmutallab is now officially on the no-fly list.

On a roll after the fourth straight day of no Muslim attempting to smuggle a packet of explosives on board an airliner, Obama vowed from his vacation spot in Hawaii to hunt down whoever was responsible for interrupting his latest round of golf.

All the warnings and "bits of information" that were missed or were "not effectively distributed" and "pieced together" will be hunted down and brought to justice, rest assured! Knowing this, I can sleep like a baby now.

Out of force of habit, Army top honcho Gen. George Casey warned that "our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our underpants, is a strength."

In a shocking departure from protocol, CNN did not run endless sob stories claiming that Abdulmutallab's attempt to bring down an airliner was caused by the traumatic stress of taking tough college exams in London. But, don't worry, give CNN's AbdulmutaLibbies another week. They'll think of something.

Reassuring Americans that they're on top of things, NapolitanObama have said or implied the following in just the past few days alone:

Our system worked, our system did not work in this instance and no one is happy or satisfied with that plus everything went according to clockwork and the attack showed our system failed miserably and the only system failure was the passenger and baggage screening and everybody played an important role in not detecting the PETN explosive sewn into Abdulmutallab's underwear and I think the comment was taken out of context because when it came right down to it the system worked after we didn't thwart the attack because we were able to notify the 128 flights in the air about the incident after it was already all over the news and the president found out in only over 3 hours and we will track down all those involved and there is no evidence of a wider conspiracy and al Qaeda's involvement is a subject of investigation and Abdulmutallab was an isolated extremist and we at Homeland Security have no indication Abdulmutallab was part of anything larger and we will not rest until we find all who were involved and hold them accountable and we're not harassing and interrogating Abdulmutallab for potential leads because we're too busy harassing and interrogating EVERY air traveler while guided by our deeply held values and hopes of having an intrusive *whole-body imaging scanner* up and running at every airport someday.

(In fairness to Obama, he's making his daily contradictory comments without any shout-outs.)

Rather than uselessly screening every air traveler, how about first screening job applicants for positions in this stultifyingly incompetent administration? If voters had applied a simple test of competence a year ago, Obama would still be voting 'Present' in the Senate. How stupid is it to put Janet Napolitano in charge of Homeland Security? Remember that next time you wonder why Obama won't release his college grades.

Despite three separate warnings to the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria received from Nigeria's former Minister of Economic Development (or, just some 'wealthy Nigerian banker', according to the New York Times) about his Islamic nutjob son and despite Abdulmutallab being on the 'watch list' and despite being denied entry into the U.K. and despite being tracked by the CIA since August, the crotch bomber wasn't even given so much as a pat-down search, out of concern that it could be construed by Muslims as hitting below the belt.

To the point, despite Obama 'authorities' ludicrously giving Abdulmutallab's underwear case the gentle handling, CAIR still insists all air travelers must be strip-searched or patted down, told to stand in the corner and have their carry-ons mutilated to guard against the legions of barbaric killer grannies out there, and mustn't paint a profile of Muslim fruit of the loons merely based on all the evidence. Everyone is a potential terrorist underwear.

Obama claims a systemic failure is how an 'isolated extremist' ended up with 80 grams of explosives in his briefs. Just an 'isolated case,' sorta like the isolated fire on the plane he tried to blow up. The liberal fetish with shutting down Bush's beastly "gulag" in Gitmo and giving the Khalid Sheikh Mohammeds of the world trials without tribulations is drawn from seeing each terrorist in isolation -- 'ah, just this one guy, no wider conspiracy, just one tingly legged extremist', other than the 200 or 300 'isolated' terrorists in Yemen plotting attacks, which is how you end up with 'missed signals', breakdowns of intelligence, catastrophic failure -- in other words, the Obama administration. All terrorism is local, no dots to connect, move along, nothing to see all around you. And nothing will jolt libbies from their comforting 'isolated' fantasy, not the horde of 'isolated' global jihadis in Pakistan, not the swelling horde of 'isolateds' in Somalia, Sudan, etc. Other than all this, the system worked. For al-Qaeda.

Anyway, that's...
My Two Cents...

Zer0 from the view of Americans is inexperienced but
as the leftist wingnut he is perfect. He delivers another
“it’s not my fault” speech, CYA.

As a leader(which he is’nt) flying back to Washington would be appropriate. The American people need assurance that their
CIF is in control.

If nothing else this would boost his image with his public.

Zer0 is an empty suit.

It's not so much that Obama is becoming unpopular, it's that liberal policies, now that they're being put into action, are being exposed as doing even more harm than we conservatives warned.

Liberal economic policy-vilifying employers and investors while enlarging government-looks right now like the opposite of what should be done, and it should now be clear to everyone.

It's becoming crystal clear now that Abdulmutallab's lawyer should be told to take a hike, and all of a sudden waterboarding seems a bit too nice.

Once again, conservatives are proven right, by events instead of reason.

Very well said, John. I couldn’t add anymore, you’ve covered it all.

IMMORAL, INCOMPETENT, NOT VERY WISE
Tune: "Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise"

Immoral, incompetent,
Not very wise;
This year of Obama meant
Murphy applies.
The change they believed in
Since Bo was a pup
Got shortchanged and even
Got all wee-wee'd up.

The bailouts, the skeptic
Said, won't stimulate;
The failure was epic--
A ten is worth eight.
The shovel is ready
To dig a new hole;
The trend line is steady--
It's Dear Leader's poll.

Insurance guy smirking,
But you might be jailed;
The system is working,
The underwear failed.
Incompetence conquers,
It's running amok;
But don't tell the Congress--
On stupid they're stuck.

On Holder, on Nappy,
On Crusty and Joe!
Is anyone happy
With Barry's Team O?
Let's all call a summit
And cry in our beer;
The worst thing about it--
It's just the first year!

President Obama, whose poll numbers have dropped dramatically. . . .

BAD NEWS FOR BARACK
Tune: "Limbo Rock" Original MIDI

Every lib'ral boy and girl
All the folks in Limbaugh World
Both sides bashing on Barack
All find something they can mock
Track his numbers, track his polls
Track the unemployment rolls
All the pollsters on the block
Say it's bad news for Barack

He'll go lower now
He'll go lower now
How low can he go

First he spread the wealth around
Then he bowed down to the ground
Spend a trillion, make it three
Spend it like it grows on trees
Track his numbers, track his polls
Track the unemployment rolls
All the pollsters on the block
Say it's bad news for Barack

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Though he started out on top
Every time the numbers drop
There's a ratings trend that shows
He will fall to record lows
Track his numbers, track his polls
Track the unemployment rolls
All the pollsters on the block
Say it's bad news for Barack

Don't move that phone book far
He needs a polling czar
How low can he go

We need to adapt El Al’s security measures which were bandied about after 9-11 and promptly forgotten. They include such things as:

Profiling by religion and country of origin,
Looking at recent travel history,
Checking passport and name against multiple data bases,
Multiple screenings of luggage,
Luggage not left unattended once screened,
Intense inspection of passports and boarding passes,
Sky marshals on every plane,
Double doors on all cockpits,
Pilots are allowed to armed in cockpits, and
Interviews by security officers prior to boarding.
Even at overseas airports El Al conducts security checks, even if they are supervised by government or private security firms.

Also, if I remember correctly anyone who not allowed to fly EL AL is very courteously assisted in getting a flight on another airline.
