Dick Cheney: Barack Obama 'trying to pretend'
Politico ^ | December 30, 2009 | MIKE ALLEN

Posted on 12/30/2009 3:18:54 AM PST by maggief

Former Vice President Dick Cheney accused President Barack Obama on Tuesday of “trying to pretend we are not at war” with terrorists, pointing to the White House response to the attempted sky bombing as reflecting a pattern that includes banishing the term “war on terror” and attempting to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

“[W]e are at war and when President Obama pretends we aren’t, it makes us less safe,” Cheney said in a statement to POLITICO. “Why doesn’t he want to admit we’re at war? It doesn’t fit with the view of the world he brought with him to the Oval Office. It doesn’t fit with what seems to be the goal of his presidency – social transformation—the restructuring of American society.”

Only one man in that photo should have been president.

“Only one man in that photo should have been president.”

I agree with you, and we are not talking about idiot Bush.

A picture is worth a thousand words....

That photo is deserving of about one hundred thousand words.

Dick probably knows little bammies secret(s). So, the question is will bammy fold and when? Will Dick spill bammie's beans?

I don't know but you can bet the farm Dick will not let this nation go under to protect the boy king.

I disagree.

If you have been doing any reading, Clinton then Bush helped put us in this mess.

Among many things, Bush never tried to close the boarders. But then, idiot Rove was doing Bush’s thinking for him.

In fact, toward the end of Bush’s term, Bush wasn’t speaking to Cheney. Again, Cheney was man enough and smart enough to disagree with what Rove and Bush were doing…or rather not doing.

Where is Sarah? I’ve been awaiting her response, am somewhat disappointed that she hasn’t come out with a statement yet.

President Bush was a lot of things, but an idiot was not one of them.

Show some respect, it is obvious that the idiot is setting behind your keyboard.

What a bunch of bunk. Reading what?

You’re still spreading the Left’s points that “Rove was doing Bush’s thinking.” You have nothing but your own little mind and people who used to be foul mouthed comedian(e)s or theater critics to back your accusations.

I remember in my younger years watching the very popular actor Rock Hudson back then in scenes where he is romancing the women like Doris Day and such, and I always though it just doesn’t look right, same thing when the TV show Brady Bunch rolled around, the dad just felt kinda weird to me.

Obama has the very same impression, like a poser that is fighting to appear normal but yearns to be what he really is but must wage a clever everyday act to conceal it.

I woke up this morning and heard Cheney responded. It made my day. Then I heard the report about many passengers at the Detroit Metro Airport showing up 6 hours earlier and lines are stretched across the street and I couldn’t help but laugh.

To further the analogy; Obama would also be stupid enough to, even though claiming to be an architect, design a home housing six kids that only has one bathroom for them.

P.S.

Bush: Constitution “Just a Piece of Paper”

January 4th, 2006

From a report by Doug Thompson:

Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act.

Several provisions of the act, passed in the shell shocked period immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, caused enough anger that liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union had joined forces with prominent conservatives like Phyllis Schlafly and Bob Barr to oppose renewal.

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”

“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

I’ve talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.”

Just as a stopped clock is right twice a day, it seems Bush is occasionally capable of letting us know what he really thinks.

Cheney understands DC better and has more experience of how it operates than anyone I can think of.

Cheney was right from the start to make the clarion call that Obama was an imposter, in way over his head, struggling to socialize our great republic.

Yes, Cheney was right that Obama is making our country less safe by his denial of the Islamic Jihadist movement.

Dick Cheney is the antithesis of the Peter Principle, he never rose to the office where he would have been the most competent guy around to occupy it. But there is his daughter.....
