I agree that the President needs a big win, which he hasn’t been able to get as of yet. The biggest reason for all this, I believe, is to let Congress get their hands on more tax money that doesn’t have to be spent for ten years......on health care. Will it still be there in 10 years? I doubt it very much. The money would be put in the general fund and spent, just like the Social Security money.

I have the same fears. A general principle of mine is to never let a politician get near a pile of money, if at all possible. How is going to make health care less expensive if we have to pay for both today's and tomorrow’s care now? And when we get to tomorrow, the till will be as empty as Bernie Madoff’s investment portfolios. This to me is basic common sense.
