“
In October, special-operations forces were pinned down northwest of
Kandahar by insurgents who fired down at them from a tower approximately 20
meters away....but an A-10 pilot was able to engage the enemy with
the fighter’s Gatling gun.
“
I think I’ve found the way to victory in Afghanistan:
1. More towers
2. photo-realistic holograms of US ground troops that look like they
are about 20 meters away from the towers
3. Enough A-10s to surgically do a Swiss-Cheese number on the towers
full of “boy, we’re going to kill the infidels now!” Taliban.
But I fear the JAG corps would go after any A-10 pilot eliminating
Taliban that were fooled into thinking they were actually attacking
real American/Coalition troops.

Haha, I see those A-10s flying eeevveerryddaayy here at DM. Awesome planes. Don’t know how many in-flight emergencies I’ve had to respond to with those planes...
But yeah, everyone I know is at Bagram, Afghanistan.
