Cool! I’ve got a ‘66 ‘stang sitting in the garage with the old 289 in it. Wish I had this kind of horsepower!

Who believes that Government Motors under Chairman Obama will continue to produce muscle cars? Oh Camaro, we hardly knew ye. Ford, you needn’t have worried.

The design of the shell isn’t that outstanding. They really removed the retro nature out of it.

This is an excellent move by Ford and exactly what was needed. Clearly my SRT8 needs a blower. I’ve only got 450 horses and a lot more weight.

I find the design still lacking. I loathe Chevy but the Camaro design is so much better than the Mustang.

For the record and indicative of not much, I have noticed there is a new Camero on the road. It is reminiscent of the Corvette. That is, some Corvette lines have ben redrawn on the larger Camero, especially the rear.
I looked for a photo but couldn’t find one to suit. It may be a ‘09 and the look was lost in the ‘10

At 5.0 liters, the Mustang's new engine delivers about 83 horsepower per liter. "Please compare that to whatever else is out there," Fascetti said.
Sure. Mazdaspeed3: 114 hp/liter, VW/Audi 2.0T: 100 hp/liter, Honda Civic Si: 98.5 hp/liter, Subaru WRX STI: 122 hp/liter
"The thing about Mustang is we never left the market."
Well, if you mean Ford never stopped building cars called "Mustangs", you're correct.

“Ford’s new V8 engine is expected to give the Mustang GT the horsepower it needs to compete against the Chevrolet Camaro SS and the Dodge Challenger SRT8.”
IFIRC the Challenger weighs 800lbs MORE than the Mustang/Camaro. That’s like having TWO 18”x 2’x 8” granite tombstones in the trunk. Geez ya’d think the latter two cars would be fairly nimble to begin with.

Sounds like they are finally figuring out overhead cams and how to achieve high specific output. The "modular" motor was a joke for years, down on power from the pushrod 5.0, and a huge lump of aluminum, as big as the old big block engines.
Suspect working on these engines is still far more difficult than the old stuff, so it is good it comes from the factory with decent power..............
To: Red Badger
Now I love American muscle cars and I have respect for the Mustang...but Ford is right now getting their butts kicked by the almighty return of the Chevy Camaro...its ok Chevy will revamp the Camaro Engine and the Z28 is coming soon...
