House Democrats from Arkansas are feeling the heat

GOP strategists see hopes for a comeback in the 2010 midterm elections, though, and they are focusing strongly on Democratic incumbents in McCain districts such as Marion Berry in Arkansas’ 1st District and Vic Snyder in Arkansas’ 2nd. While both of these veteran lawmakers maintain advantages in their races, the stepped-up GOP efforts to challenge them have prompted CQ Politics to change its ratings on the races — to Leans Democratic (from Likely Democratic) in Snyder’s race and to Likely Democratic (from Safe Democratic) in Berry’s district.

I understand that McCain was the lead in the ticket, but really, can we say that the vote went for him and not for Palin? By extension, can we not say that the vote went for the conservative? Based on that, the GOP has a clear road map. Let’s see if they can get their act together.

Do people in Arkansas want to vote for the Democrat-Islamic party led by a Muslim?

Getting rid of stinking RINO liars & vermin like McCain, Crist, Newt, Graham-nesty and other scum should be a top priority.

Labeling districts that went Republican “McCain” districts strikes me as both dishonest and just plain warped. McCain LOST! I think they should be looked at as “Palin” districts - and the RNC better get into gear with the real facts.

As Bob Dylan wrote - “ ... the Rules of the Road have been lodged, it’s only people’s games that you have to dodge ... “

I’d be impressed if they backed Scott Brown in his bid to capture Kennedy’s seat in the special election in January. That would be a real canary in thee coal mine. Unfortunately, the GOP has no b@lls.

I disagree - RNC and elites do have b@lls - they have the b@lls to dis the base and support RINOs - they are saying “Conservatives can suck wind in 2010”. They would rather lose, than see a return to Reagan’s vision - they are SOROS/Corporate controlled elites with b@lls - IMHO.

I would not put too much emphasis on stuff in Arkansas. These are all democrats. They voted for McCain because there was not a alternative.

These voters are progressives until they have to pay for anything. Then they whine and cry and vote for the next democrat.

The only Republican they ever vote for is a occasional president when things get expensive as far as taxes but they funny thing is that they wanted the free stuff.

The minorities will vote for “Old Scratch” if they are promised more freebies.

This strikes me as a odd point of view. As I recall, Palin lost that election as well. But, both of them carried the districts in question. Since McCain was on top of the ticket, I think its reasonable to point out that he carried the district in 2008. Moreover, neither McCain or Palin will be on a nationwide ticket in 2010.

You may be right but I think we will see at least one of the Arkansas seats go from D to a solid R. Arkansas hasn’t exactly produced gold standard conservative Republicans (need I name names?), Democrats in the state have been more fiscally conservative then a lot of the elected Republicans.

This year I get the feeling that a lot of the past history and normal rules won’t apply.

Well ......one can hope, but Theo Roosevelt still controls the vote in Arkansas. I often go the the polls only to find out that there are no republicans to vote for.....none...0...nada......

Makes for a quick trip.

I've been saying that because it's the honest truth.

It's like saying that any Muslim that's between 15 and 40 that's flying on a one-way ticket w/o checking luggage should be body scanned before boarding his/her flight.

It's only common sense.
