there is no doubt the trap was meant for members of the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley Gang Task Force.

I see at least one Free Republic pro-violent gangster sympathizer has shown up on this thread.

No, not the BLEVE, just static mixture of gas & air. They put the “out running the flame speed” lesson after the BLEVE lesson to get us to take up jogging :)

Don't know about puddling and such, but have seen three houses blown by natural gas leaks. Opened up like cardboard boxes.

On time, at Ft Hood, in a previous life, I went to light the stove in the kitchen, and found myself sitting on the lawn outside, on top of the kitchen screen door, with the stove door in my lap.

Dissapatin' is nice, bit sometimes not suffcient or quick enough to light em up when sparks are introduced.

The maintenance department is most likely called in the case you mention because they usually have the needed information about the building INCLUDING WHERE THE GAS LINES RUN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING! {that the contractor will need to know if called and hired} If you are an actual contractor then you would know it, understand it, and I would not be wasting my time explaining it to you which makes me think you know not what you say you do.

As a California plumbing contractor, I like it when a maintenance man is around that knows the building, or the shopping mall, or the high rise condo building, but it is rarely available.

I don't recall ever needing anyone to show me how gas lines run from the meter, when you have run gas lines yourself for decades, you get a pretty good idea how things run, and I don't recall that help being available, but it is always nice to have someone around that can unlock doors for you and such. I don't know whether some plumbers used to bully you or what, but it sure is amusing to learn how much you dislike the plumbing industry.

Plumbers never bothered me. Heck I lived and worked amongst about 75 of them for 4 years and not a cross word exchanged between us. Jerks trolling threadss looking for arguements and enjoying themselves while doing so bother me though and I soon loose patience with such persons. Good Day.

Someone needed to correct some of the things that you were laying out earlier in the thread and it set you to great anger and defensive outbursts.

There is no reason that a California Plumbing Contractor posting information about natural gas on a thread about a California natural gas incident should have triggered such a barrage of childish nonsense from you.

Yeee. Now that would develop some serious motivation to pay attention to the second lesson. I presume training to run mach 1 was not the recommended option for the first lesson :o)

Re: I though this was Hemet in Afghanistan..”

Same difference. Both involve psychopathic killers, only in Afghanistan we can kill them. In California, they get Cable TV and lawyers.

Time to start killing their leaders during raids. The small fry will talk to avoid the death penalty (if Calif. still has one and the guts to use it) because of the felony murder rule.

Once the gangs get the message that their time is up, they will either stand and fight, or flee. Then we can take out their whole building(s) with some decent arms and only worry about identifying the corpses.

Gangs, now aided by Mexican narcotraffickers, are more willing to fight it out with anyone than are our police. You never go into a war without better arms, more arms, more men, better intelligence, and the WILL TO WIN.

The Governator’s words are meaningless unless he gets down and dirty on gangs. This is not Conan the Barbarian, Predator, or True Lies. It is TRUE LIFE and if you aren’t prepared to destroy the enemy, then get out of the way and bring in someone who will (if California still has anyone with balls, which I doubt).

My son is a cop with authority to shoot to kill, as well as a combat veteran. He knows what reality is. Time that our elected officials do.If I had had to arm myself in Vietnam and fight, I would have. No problems with that (it was quiet where I went. No problems, no mortars, no boobytraps, except for that grenade at the USO in Saigon).

Time to cut out the liberal law enforcement crap and wipe out our enemies, here and abroad.

I made the mistake of looking at your reply after a couple glasses of wine:)

I wanted to find an actual FPS of flame propagation and turned to the internet for a quick answer, which wasn’t there.

OK into the attic to find my old notebooks. My LNG notebook was refilled with the an EMT class and a microbiology class.

I set aside the EXXON VALDEZ report along with the sinking of the TEXACO OKLAHOMA, the Neahkani Mountain exploration by Captain Drake, pilotage classes for Prince William Sound.....

Opened my 8th edition of Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineers ($64..50, 1978) Depending on per cent in primary air-gas mixture, looking at the graph, top speed :) :) 1.5 FPS

Happy New Year

A city founded in 1887 and incorporated in 1910 is 'relatively new'?

Up until the 1970's it was just a strip of stores on florida ave surrounded by farms.

I guess you can call Regur hardware and Chappie's bar a city

A city is a city regardless what establishments it may have or how many. It’s also a city regardless what definition you may choose to apply.

Hemet, in this case, is a city, or an 'incorporated municipality' if you wish. And has been one since 1910, or the last 100 years. That’s not ‘relatively new’ by any reasonable definition of the term.

natural gas wants to get away

I believe you are correct. When I was installing my CO/Flammable Gas alarm the instructions differed for propane and NG.

For propane they recommend that it be plugged into an outlet near the floor, for NG it included an extension cord and it recommend installation near the ceiling.

Oh, no.

I’ve been considering moving down to the area near Oakland/Sutherlin in Oregon. Now you tell me it’s becoming like southern California. That is just flat-out unacceptable.

Any reason why?

Failure to enforce immigration laws in this country.

If they don’t abide by our immigration laws, what makes people think they will abide by ANY law.

and it was a large part of the reason we got out of CA.
