The NFL has featured BO in numerous ads claiming to support exercise for kids.

Sounds political to me.

The NFL commercial you reference was produced by the NFL with the intent and purpose of selling NFL jerseys for Christmas. The ancillary purpose was to get a bunch of overweight kids off the couch and exercise.

Selling Drew Brees jerseys at $80.00 a piece makes money for the NFL.
