CAMP VICTORY, Iraq — December was the first month since the Iraq war began in which there were no American combat deaths, a milestone hailed by military officials Friday as they inaugurated a new name for the U.S. force at the start of the year that will see the war wind down in earnest.

Henceforth, the Multinational Force-Iraq will officially be called the United States Force-Iraq, in belated recognition of the fact that for some time there have been no other nations serving alongside U.S. troops in the nearly 7-year-old conflict.

British, Australian and Romanian soldiers pulled out in July, leaving Americans as the last surviving members of what former President George W. Bush once called "the coalition of the willing." A small number of foreigners are serving with a NATO training mission, but they were not part of the multinational force.

But there were reminders of the toll exacted by the war, in which 4,371 U.S. servicemen and 318 coalition members have lost their lives, according to the independent Web site icasualties.org.

Simply amazing! We won despite the best efforts of at least half the stinking government who tried to sabotage the mission. May the democrats all go straight to hell!

Isn’t it amazing that news outlets no longer report casualities?
There were over 100 deaths in Afghanistan and MSM simply ignored.

Victory.

There, I said it. I have criticized Bush in the past for not specifying what it might look like. May the media, both domestic and international, who were waiting to use such a thing as a club to beat him with be damned. This is what it looks like.

This is fantastic news and I believe indicative of the progress of the mission.

Our boys and girls never gave up on the mission despite the best efforts of much of the Democratic party to derail it.

The answer from the left on this news? Yes, yes, that’s all fine, so we can bring them all home now?

We shouldn’t get too smug, we still have the “Graveyard of Empires” to contend with. Sarc/

Well, with our Present-dint able to convince the multi-nationals to leave and let Al Qaeda know that we're buds now, of course there will be less violence.....

Obama and the democraps tried their best to turn Iraq into a “Bush's fault” Cambodia but he had enough time to see the Surge put into place. This does not mean that the democraps can not still put the “Killing Fields” into effect in Iraq and Afganistan.
Coalition military forces deaths 2008 = 295
Coalition military forces deaths 2009 = 521

What is the Magic Negro's exit date from Iraq? I think Detroit is already lost to the mongrel hordes/ :).

We can debate the merits of Iraq - I personally think it’s a huge success to be rid of Saddam and to be showing a different way to the depressing Arab world. But how many fewer American heroes would have died if the RATS hadn’t been allowed to get away with this by the complicit RAT press? Even before the war, like McDermott out here in my neck of the woods...how sick these RATS are and how sick to see the RAT press carry their water and jock straps.

And let me add, rid of a rogue Iraqi state that indirectly and directly support AQ and groups like Hamas, and would have served like Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen as a huge rogue and materially rich (3rd (I think) largest oil supply in the world) breeding ground for Islamic terror.

And yet day after day PBS, and all the alphabets reporting every single last bit of American blood and bad news they could.

The RAT press water carriers are sickeningly traitorous, imho.

Hear, hear! And while some Iraqi citizens are still being killed by the death cultists among them, more and more Iraqis are talking about the future, and debating in the public square about how to bring it about, like a true fledgling democracy.

Screw the RATS and Michael Mooron and bowelmovement.org...

Words cannot express how I detest these people, on this topic. I have fought that war on the home front. God bless our boys and girls - true heroes!
