Former Vice President Dick Cheney ruffled a good many elitist feathers recently when he accused the president of pretending that America is not at war. Cheneys words were immediately challenged by the same fellow who took three days to make a public statement about the terrorist incident on Flight 253 this Christmas Day.
So which one is right? Is Cheney overstating the situation, or is President Obama in denial?
It may be the latter, considering other similar positions taken by President Obama. Namely:
* Islam is a religion of peace: 9.11, the Fort Hood slaughters, and Flight 253 are but isolated examples
* Shutting down GITMO will eventually persuade Muslim fanatics to give up IEDs and suicide bombings
* Janet Napolitano was the most qualified person in all of America to be Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security
* The Bush Recession is over, although his sky-high unemployment numbers continue to linger
* Working as planned: The trillion dollar stimulus which was supposed to create or save 3-4 million jobs
* Spending additional trillions of dollars is absolutely essential in order to reduce the federal deficit
* Adding 30 million to the ranks of the insured will cut overall medical costs, reduce the deficit, improve the quality of care and will not result in higher taxes
* 250 million Christians live here; however, America is not a Christian nation...

To be fair - I heard that it took GB 5 days to respond about the shoe bomber. I don’t know if that is true or not.
Heard it was seven ....
oBoz0 can’t even act presidential, he was and always will be a punk community organizer and a Marxist ACORN lawyer.
It’s not about how many days it took to respond. It’s about mindset and clear ideology. That’s one thing I liked about Bush is the mindset was not this namby pamby crap regarding terror.
NObody questioned Bush's stand against terrorists and Obama is going to get a lot of us killed!
Gosh... another Huffpost talking point.
Do you think President Bush was playing golf, basketball, strolling on the beach and eating snow cones during that time?
Well I doubt he is pretending to be at war.
Nope, he’s not pretending to be at war. This is what he did today.

GB 5 days,
I doubt that and lets put that into context
The shoe bomber took place, Dec 2001.
3 months prior was 9/11. Bush was 24/7 dealing with this
and other issues. He wasn’t on a Hawaiian vacation.
That was when the war on terror was fresh, much had not been done yet to stop such people, and 9-11 was still seismically shaking the nations psyche.
Now so far from then, and so much work has been done to prevent these incidents, we had a major failure that never should have happened.
Bush caught crap for Katrina. We know that city and state dropped the ball there and the feds were only part of it, but Bush burned for it.
Obama owns this one. The feds should never have let this happen. It’s a major failure on Obama’s part to not address this sooner. It’s a major indicator of failure of systems that were supposed to prevent things like shoe bombers.
In the end we shall see again, political correctness probably protected this terrorist. Just like Fort Hood.
Diddly-Squat!
President Bush didn't need to say anything.
We were at war. We expected the enemy to 'attack'. Everyone knew we were at war (9-11 was not that far removed from the minds of our ADD nation).
President Present needed to make a statement because his meme has been that there is no war. There is no terrorism. He and his merry band of gay caballeros have made things right with their worldwide apology tours. They've been acting like all they need to do is just teach the world to sing and then offer them a Coke and a group hug...
That is why their is a big difference between President Bush not speaking immediately about Richard Reid, and President Obama not speaking about the attempt to blow up the plane over Detroit. And the problem is compounded because this has been a consistent theme for the Pennsylvania Avenue bumbler. He stumbled around about before speaking on Fort Hood (and I don't believe he ever used the 'Terrorism' word), he deigned to comment immediately about the US Military recruiters who were assassinated in Little Rock by a muslim, and he's treating 9-11 as a 'civil crime' and not as an act of war (bringing its planner to New York for a civil trial). Altogether 'uninspiring'.
Cheney hasn’t overstated and Hussein isn’t in denial.
Hussein just isn’t on our side of the continuing war.
ZOT!
IBTZ
How come we haven’t seen nor heard of Michelle being with the “family & friends” on these outings? Was she even there? Just curious.
