Dumb@ss idea. Most will end up pregnant. I say this from what I witnessed as a female in the military.

I'm opposed - I'm opposed to sea duty for women altogether - in subs I think all the problems that arise in intra-personal dynamics from living in close quarters and long separation from loved ones will be exacerbated by the presence of female crew members.

What will they do when a pregnancy happens while running silent for extended missions? Will they call time out, and make port to drop her off? Some of these boats “disappear” for months on station.

The Royal Navy's new Astute attack submarines could easily be adapted to accommodate women,/i>I never understood that. WHAT exactly needs to modified to accomdate women. You get up, go to the bathroom, do you damn job and go to sleep.

With the CNO and Chairman of the Joint Staff both from the surface community and major diversity supporters, the submarine force was an easy target.
The only submarines being considered as the prototype platforms for this initiative are the SSBNs and SSGNs, not the SSNs.
The unit punishment logs are getting ready to increase in thickness on these platforms...

My previous post is in regard to the U.S. Navy, not the Royal Navy.

How large of submarines are these?

LOL! Operation Petticoat. One of my favorite movies. This whole thread brought it to mind.
