If he’s anti-war, then clearly he’s also protested against the landmines, IEDs, warcrimes, et al committed by the Taliban and Al Qaeda as well, right?

Anti-war means opposing war on both sides. Otherwise you have a side chosen and are ok with them fighting until the war is over. The so called “anti-war” movement in America during the Vietnam War had a decidedly “pro-North Vietnamese” (anti-South Vietnamese) bent.

Your thesis is correct in the case of this "anti-war" clown.

It was not nearly so true during Vietnam. Jane Fonda, yeah. But many of us were against the war for other reasons. Number one was the draft. A free country does not need a slave army. Number two was the political manner in which it was fought. We got into it backing the f'ing French in recovering their pre-WWII colonies. Our political leadership totally f'd the dog in their approaches. We never fought to win, using overwhelming force. 50,000 guys of my generation died for NOTHING. Our politicians spent their blood like ther damn Socialist Security IOUs.

I was VERY much against the war, and I VERY much wanted the North Vietnamese to lose.

And after they repealed the draft, I joined the US Army, voluntarily. An excellent experience well worth my time and effort, and the Army seemed to think so too, as I was promoted as rapidly as my MOS would allow.
