My question is not: “Was Jesus in it for the money?” My question is, should network newsman Brit Hume have taken advantage of his network soapbox to counsel Tiger Woods? And my answer is, no, he should not have.

That would depend entirely on whether Hume had some insight that would make him think his voice would be heard by Tiger Woods. Hume is a high-status media personality, and I have no doubt that Woods has "with his ears" heard what Hume has recommended. I can only hope that he heard it with his heart as well.

So, Hume is being a faithful Christian in recommending his own Savior to Woods. And to my recollection, Hume has not made such a directed recommendation in the past. I suspect the hand of God was heavy on his heart to speak up. And he did.

I can only commend him for his courage and fidelity to his Christian mission.

More should speak up.

Are you a Christian?

I am a Christian who is continually, almost constantly embarrassed by idiots like that idiot Rick Warren. “Jesus wants $900,000 before New Year’s Day or we’re belly up!”? I am a Christian who believes that if Jesus wants his messages on television, he’ll get hypocrite televangelists and mega-church charlatans to put ‘em there; he don’t need semi-real people like Hume to smile a salesman smile into the camera and be Jesu’s on-air pitchman.

So you would rather have hypocrites and charlatans as Christianity's media messengers????

Hume has always struck me as down to earth and sincere. His Woods comments were delivered calmly and rationally. I was proud he demonstrated his Christianity on live TV. I wish more would.

You seem overly angry about a church you don't even attend. Why?

overly angry about a church I don’t even attend? Overly angry? A certain level of anger is about right, but I’ve crossed the line? From the Catholics still shielding and defending boy-raping priests to private-jet-set inaugural-benediction preachers begging for millions (”And hurry, too. We need it real quick.”), anyone who respects Jesus’ words and death probably should be angry.

My Army dog tags read “Protestant”. I usually stop there.

They certainly are blinder than bats to not see God in the universe. It is really hard to comprehend being intellectually and spiritually that blind day after day, year after year. It boggles the mind! They prove not that there is no God but rather that there is a Satan who is a master at deception.

As a career chaplain, I can assure you that protestant doesn’t exist. It’s a grouping of denominations. I am Methodist. Now....what are you...or what were you raised?

You can assure me that protestant doesn’t exist? Tell it to Huss and Luther and Knox and them guys. Protestant is on my old dog tags, because I’m a Protestant.
