A long, long time ago, I scraped up the money to become a Life Member. And, it did put a dent in the budget. And, I still contribute more than the annual dues.
Joining the NRA is not a an exercise in "how much free stuff can I get?" or "is it a good deal?"
If defending our rights is worth $20, but not $25 to you, I am not certain we need you on our team.
You took what I said out of context. I already support the NRA with annual donations and I already have Beck's book.
The NRA's objective in this partnership is to increase their membership numbers. I think more people will join if they get the book for $20.
It sounds like you take our 2nd Amendment rights seriously, so I applaud you for that. However, kicking me off your team over a comment about a good deal is rather extreme.
We few, we happy few.
We band of brothers.
I had a guy tell me he didn’t want to join the NRA again because they didn’t send him the plastic keychain they promised.
You’re correct. Anyone complaining about mailings or missing out on their freebies, I don’t want them.
And then they have the nerve to tell me what they would do in case of a Civil War. Yeah, right.
well then why don’t you tell us why the nra KNOWINGLY keeps on it’s board the/a MAJOR fund raiser, agenda setter and lobbyist for C.A.I.R, yeah, C.A.I.R, the german style 1930’s bund type organization designed to destroy America from within, Grover norquist????? married to a muslim and founder of the islamic institute, another org, designed to destroy our nation from within. yep quite a group that nra outfit is. why don’t you tell this old boy who was involved with the nra before most FReepers were born why I should pay any attention to them ever again? go ahead...justify their ‘in bed with a muslim terrorist front group organizer’...go ahead.
