On the one hand, it is constantly being portrayed as the religion of peace; on the other, its adherents are responsible for the majority of terror attacks around the world. Apologists for Islam emphasize that it is a faith built upon high ethical standards; others stress that it is a religion of the law. Islam's dual notions of truth and falsehood further reveal its paradoxical nature: While the Qur'an is against believers deceiving other believers—for "surely God guides not him who is prodigal and a liar"[1]—deception directed at non-Muslims, generally known in Arabic as taqiyya, also has Qur'anic support and falls within the legal category of things that are permissible for Muslims.

The ultimate “peace of Islam” can only be reached when the entire world submits to Islam as the only true faith, either as converts or as dhimmis, denying other faiths. As long as there are millions of Christians, Jews, Hindus etc then “peace” has not yet been attained. I suppose that if the entire world were ruled by a violent theocracy and everyone knew they would be beheaded if they sinned, the world would be peaceful...in a night-of-the-living-dead sort of way.

I’ve heard it referred to as a “gutter religion.” But me, I’m a big fan of Executive Summaries.
Islam is an insane murder cult, the rest is PR designed to lull future jihad victims to sleep.
