Epic Double Standard: Lefties Once Outraged by Possible Kudlow Senate Run Mum on Schultz
NewsBusters ^ | January 7, 2010 | Jeff Poor

Given the well documented "revolving door" between the media and the Democratic (particularly the Obama administration), it's hardly surprising that MSNBC "The Ed Schultz" host Ed Schultz has been approached about a run for the Senate from North Dakota. But it's still hard to swallow the left's hypocrisy concerning who can make the jump from journalism to politics.

On his Jan. 6 broadcast, he elaborated on the news that he had been approached to run for the North Dakota U.S. Senate seat, which will be vacated by Democratic Sen. Byron Dorgan at the end of his term. Schultz admitted he wasn't "considering it right now," choosing his words carefully.

"After talking over how he arrived at this decision to retire, he did ask me one question," Schultz said. "That was, how old am I. I thought, uh oh, here we go. Then, this morning, I got a phone call from a good friend, Merle Boucher. Merle is the House Democratic leader in North Dakota. He officially asked me to consider to run for the U.S. Senate seat in North Dakota. All right. I'm flattered and I'm honored and I can't say I'm even considering it right now. I've worked, as many people know, very hard to get where I am in my career. To go from Fargo to 30 Rock is a dream come true for any broadcaster. I've invested a lot of years, a lot of time and effort, as an opportunity to use the microphone to advocate for the middle class in this country." [Emphasis added]

Al Franken made the leap from the criminally corrupt and violently treasonous Err America to the US Senate (where he was selected, not elected. he never ONCE held a majority of ballots).

But it's still hard to swallow the left's hypocrisy concerning who can make the jump from journalism to politics.

The entire premise of this article is naive and infantile.

Of course the left is against the journalism to politics leap when it cuts against them and for it when it is to their advantage.

That's not hypocritical...that's just common sense.

And even if it were hypocritical...the left has long establish the fact that they are missing any ethical backbone.

To expect them to behave other than hypocritically would be irrational.

The author of this article is essentially expressing his surprise that snakes bite.

Now if the Left actually demonstrated some integrity...that would be a surprising and rare event.

Half the people are going to read the headline too quick and think Lisa Kudrow will be running for Senate. Hey I saw her on Friends too!

Ed Schultz would not even last thru the ND primary....he is too liberal

Byron Dorgan won elections was because he wasn’t some Free Trade Liberal backed by George Soros....he stood up against NAFTA, led the legislation to ban Mexican trucks from driving all around America (almost unanimous support for that), and was a big opponent of Illegal Alien Amnesty. His support of Socialized Medicine was his huge downfall.

Schulz is so Socialist on most issues...he would not survive the primary
