Convicted Garland Cop Killer's Execution Tonight

A man convicted of gunning down a police officer during an attempted bank robbery was set to receive a lethal injection Thursday, the first execution of the year in the nation's busiest death penalty state.

Kenneth Mosley, 51, was condemned to death for the February 1997 slaying of David Moore, a Garalnd police officer. Mosley was set for execution twice last year but technical issues and court appeals stalled the punishment. His attorneys said his appeals now were exhausted.

"We just can't find anything," Bruce Anton said.

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles denied a request for clemency for Mosley earlier this week.

Texas put 24 convicted killers to death last year, accounting for nearly half of the 52 executions carried out in the U.S. Another convicted killer was scheduled to be executed in Texas next week.

Moore, 32, was killed while responding to a 911 call about a bank robbery. The 10-year police veteran and father of three was shot four times after he approached Mosley, who was standing in line to get to a teller. A bank employee had called 911 after recognizing Mosley as the man who robbed it more than month earlier.

The Flint, Mich., native who grew up in rural Arkansas had an extensive criminal record he blamed on drug addiction. Evidence showed he had a record for sexually assaulting a woman and arrests for possession of marijuana, illegal knives and for stealing items from a Home Depot and then returning them for cash refunds.

Once again Texas reminds us of the value of human life.

“Whose sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: For in the image of God made He man.”

Those who abhor and protest execution of murderers demonstrate the low value they place on human life.

Have they pulled the plug on this waste of a human skin yet?

Yes, it’s 12 years... but others have been executed faster, and unlike most other states, at least they are being executed.

Yeah, because those same people usually are pro-abortion and pro-euthanasia. It's ok to kill babies, sick and elderly but not convicted murderers, rapist and terrorists.

Mosley shook his head once when asked by a warden if he had any final statement. As the lethal drugs began taking effect, he snored a few times, then gasped slightly. Nine minutes later, at 6:16 p.m. CST, he was pronounced dead.

Good point!

Our nation is indeed sick - sick, in my opinion, beyond recovery, and filled with “men without chests” (to use C. S. Lewis’s phrase,) lacking the manly fortitude to tackle the difficult tasks.

This is one area in which I applaud George W. Bush. It’s got to be a difficult thing to send a man to his death. But Governor Bush was man enough to do it.

They need to bring back the Plug, known as Old Sparkie.

As they used to sing at executions, “Let him fry, let him fry, let him fry.”

Murderers send themselves to death, liberals are stupid for trying to stop it.

"...I live in Garland,..."

Then maybe you can answer my query: What's with the tap water in your town? It tastes like is has been run through moss a few times. I experienced that in Mesquite, also. Something in the aquifer maybe?

Lake Ray Hubbard. Anytime you drag water out of a lake it has to taste like whatever is in that lake, regardless of how they process it. I drink good old Mountain Valley, Arkansas spring water, I wash my dishes with the local supply ;)
